Adequate for conventional, self-motivated learners. Teachers are wonderful and compassionate but supports are lacking.
Throughout my education I found SOMSD to be pretty bland. The basic is taught and the teacher do not go beyond their rules to provided the best eduction to students. A lot of them fail to understand the importance of mental health and care more about assigning assignments and getting grades in.
The South Orange Maplewood School District has been my home my whole life going through elementary to high school in this district/town. It is such a great place to grow up with lots of support from everyone and really helps students grow into adults in the real world. The only problem I have personally faced is with my school's safety since there have been many fights that resulted in lockdowns or code yellows. Other than the security needing to be better everything else is great.
