What a great little gem of a museum. Housed in a historic building from the 1940s with lots of photos in the lobby. Very helpful and nice staff to welcome you. They have packed a ton of information in this museum. We spent a good 90 minutes and definitely could have stayed longer to read everything. There are some fun interactive exhibits where you can try reeling in a fish and getting a laser tattoo. It is located within walking distance of the cute little hotels in Santa Barbara and has a few restaurants right around it. Definitely worth a trip!

This is a great, charming little museum. I was thinking 3 stars because it isn't the Louvre (not fair to compare), but it is very charming with pertinent information. Fun to learn and kids in the place seemed to have fun. Great place to spend some time and learn.

Interesting place. Cost is $5 a senior.
Only took maybe half hour to walk through but was interesting.
I would suggest if there in the area to do it. A VERY short walk away is Brophy Brothers and it has great fish and chips.

A good maritime museum with an excellent rooftop deck view. It depends on your interest how much time you wish to spend here, but still interesting to tour. Admission price is reasonable and has a nice gift shop!

We took "Toot" from the Wharf across the harbor and landed in front of the museum. The price was great since we had a coupon. The kids worked on a scavenger hunt that took them to each exhibit--good planning on their part. There were lots of interactive things to explore as well. Lots of restaurants on the boardwalk as well. Took the Red Line Trolley for a quarter back to the Wharf. Fun trip.

The Maritime Museum is worth your time and you can eat lunch afterwards at the water and make an afternoon of it or go to breakfast at the water and then go to the Museum. It will not disappoint and you will feel like you have been on a mini-vacation.
