Excess Baggage Fees

If you choose not to pre-book a checked bag in advance and arrive at the airport with bags to check, you'll be charged for the first 20kg of baggage allowance per customer, and then for every additional kilo after that at the per kilo rate.

If you've added checked baggage to your booking but arrive with more than your personal checked bag allowance, you'll be charged for excess baggage. Excess baggage is charged €10 per kilo.

Customers are not permitted to upgrade a bag to a higher weight at the airport on the day of departure, excess fees will be applied to any weight over a customer's personal allowance.

Bag fees are non-refundable.

  • Essential items, such as personal medication, money, passports and other identification documents should be packed in either your small personal item or a carry-on bag with priority boarding and not in checked baggage.
  • Please review our guidelines on banned, restricted and dangerous goods before arriving at the airport.
  • The airport bag drop closes 45 minutes before departure for flights within Europe. However we recommend arriving much earlier than this to avoid potential airport queues.
  • If you are on a connecting flight with Aer Lingus, you won’t need to pick up your bags, we’ll transfer them to the final flight destination. This service is not available to self-connecting customers who have booked independent connecting flights.
  • If your flight is scheduled to depart between certain hours in the morning at either Dublin or Cork airport, to avoid queues you can use our Evening before check in service.
  • Sports equipment will be carried at the applicable sports equipment rate.
  • Read more information about travelling with musical equipment.
