  • Czeslaw Michniewicz has announced Poland's 26-man squad for Qatar 2022

  • It is headlined by star man Robert Lewandowski

  • Mateusz Klich was a surprise omission

Roberto Lewandowski is joined by Italian Serie A duo Piotr Zielinski and Wojciech Szczesny in Czeslaw Michniewicz's 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The Poland coach chose, however, not to include Leeds United's Mateusz Klich, or Fortuna Dusseldorf pair Michal Karbownik and Dawid Kownacki.

Aston Villa's Matty Cash has been included despite only recently returning from injury, and is joined by current team-mate Jan Bednarek, while former West Brom man Gregorz Krychowiak makes the cut alongside Birmingham City's Krystian Bielik.

Michniewicz, who is entering his first tournament as Poland coach, has also called upon the experience of Kamil Glik, Kamil Grosicki and Arkadiusz Milik, but has an eye on the future with the inclusion of Nicola Zalewski and Jakub Kaminski.

This is Poland's eighth World Cup, with their best showing being third place in both 1974 and 1982.
