One thing Hong Kong is not short of is shopping malls. City Plaza is a large scale mall in Taikoo Shing, with mostly mid-range shopping. It’s out of the way for most people although it’s easy enough to get to on the MTR. One reason to go here is the Ice Palace Skating Rink, which is a fun thing to do to escape the heat in Hong Kong.
You will find a large selection of well known, chain-store brands here such as Zara, H&M, Club Monaco, Giordano, Levis, Marks & Spencer, Uniqlo and Superdry. There are a few higher end shops like Coach and Furla but mostly it is affordable shopping.
It’s pretty family-friendly. In addition to the ice-skating rink, there’s a big Lego store, a ToysRUs and McDonalds. There are plenty of food options other than fast food, including Western style places like the Agnes B cafe, Pret A Manger and the obligatory coffee chains, Pacific Coffee & Starbucks.
Although it’s very big, I find it a reasonably easy centre to navigate and the large spaces mean that it doesn’t feel over-crowded.
Like most of Hong Kong, it’s open until late so you can shop until midnight.

Literally the best rooftop bar in the Eastern District to chill or to enjoy a Happy Friday evening!

They’re located at the 32/F of East Hong Kong hotel. Very decent place with unparalleled views, nice vibes and live DJ music not so loud so you could have a nice chat. Wide variety of cocktails and other beverages, as well as Japanese-style snack. Service was great too!

I was invited to be part of the surprise engagement party for a friend. The guy decided to hold it here - friends of both the guy and the girl were invited to watch a movie here, the couple arrived late so that they couldn't discover the rest of the audience were people they knew, then in the middle of the movie it switched to play a video the guy prepared asking her to marry him. Even though we didn't finish the movie here, we experienced the service - service staff would come to you to ask for your choice of food and drink, and bring them to you later. The seats were comfy and large enough. Being here is a way to enjoy a movie you like (apart from watching it at home, if you have good equipment). It's not cheap, but once in a while you may spoil yourself.
