Ticket to Paradise features an impressive cast, among which a few notable A-listers will be familiar faces to the audience, bringing the characters of the Cotton family and the people around them to life. The film reunites the actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts who had previously been a couple on-screen in the role of the main couple. Ticket to Paradise is directed and co-written by Ol Parker, best known for directing and co-writing the 2018 film Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! in a similar genre. The film is a romantic comedy set in Bali that is coming out in theaters in October 2022

Ticket to Paradise follows David and Georgia Cotton, a divorced couple who now hate each other and regret ever getting married. The film opens with the two of them traveling to Bali to meet their daughter Lily. While on vacation in Bali, Lily meets Gede and the two quickly get engaged within a month of knowing each other. Both her parents disapprove of this and believe she is making their same mistakes in rushing into a marriage. They decide to establish a truce in order to sabotage the wedding. In the meantime, they get to know Gede but also each other.

George Clooney plays David Cotton, one of the main characters in the film. David had been married to Georgia for five years before their divorce. The two now hate each other and only interact with each other for their daughter Lily who they both love. George Clooney has directing credits to his filmography, but he's widely known for his acting roles. Most notably, George Clooney won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Syriana in 2006. After that, Clooney had been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his roles in the films Michael Clayton, Up in the Air, and The Descendants. George Clooney has also famously starred in the Coen brothers' O Brother Where Art Thou, as well as in Hail, Ceasar!, Gravity, and Ocean's Eleven with his Ticket to Paradise co-star Julia Roberts.

Set up as David's nemesis, Julia Roberts joins George Clooney on-screen once again in the role of Georgia Cotton, David's ex-wife and Lily's mother. Georgia has given up her career for her marriage and wants to convince her daughter not to repeat the mistake she once made. Many viewers will remember Julia Roberts' Friend cameo, but the actress mostly established herself on the big screen, with movies like the beloved romantic comedies Pretty Woman, My Best Friend's Wedding, Notting Hill ,and Runaway Bride. Shortly afterwards she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the biographical film Erin Brockovich in 2000.

In the film Ticket to Pradise, Lily Cotton is the daughter of David and Georgia Cotton. Lily has to deal with her divorced parents who never get along, not even for important events in her life, like her graduation ceremony from law school. In the film, Lily meets and falls in love with Gede while on vacation in Bali. They soon get engaged after a month of knowing each other, and she invites her parents to Bali for her wedding. Most recently, the actor Kaitlyn Dever starred in the movie version of the musical Dear Evan Hansen, but she took on other supporting parts in films like The Spectacular Now, Detroit, and Bad Teacher. In 2019, she played the leading roles in Them That Follow and Booksmart.

Gede is a handsome seaweed farmer from Bali. As Ticket to Paradise begins, he is engaged to Lily, a month after having met her. Lily's parents are initially against the wedding and do not approve of Gede, but as the film goes on, they realize that he does truly care for their daughter. Gede is played by the France-born Indonesian actor Maxime Bouttier who has previously acted in One Fine Day, Meet Me After Sunset, Serendipity, and Matt & Mou before starring in Ticket to Paradise.

Billie Lourd as Wren Butler: Previously known for both film and TV credits, such as Scream Queens and the Star Wars sequel trilogy, as much as for Billie's role in Booksmart, Billie Lourd plays Wren Butler. Wren is a recent graduate from the University of Chicago who stays in Bali with her best friend Lily during her engagement and wedding to Gede, and will eventually find her own romance.

Lucas Bravo as Paul: Lucas Bravo plays Georgia's keen boyfriend, Paul, a pilot who seems to be the opposite of David in every way. Before Ticket to Paradise, Lucas Bravo is best known for his role in the Nextflix romantic comedy series Emily in Paris and the 2022 comedy-drama film Mrs Harris Goes to Paris.
