Tasha Robinson The Verge But like Argo, Salyut-7 is an edge-of-the-seat experience even when it veers into obviously exaggerated territory. Sep 29, 2017 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site With considerable suspense and excitement, Salyut-7, directed by Kim Shipenko, fictionally depicts the remarkable repair of a Soviet space station in 1985. Feb 14, 2021 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter A spectacular visual treat, should appeal to fans of "Apollo 13." Jun 15, 2020 Full Review Andrew Todd Birth.Movies.Death. As foreshadowed by a nailbiter of a prologue involving a tiny hole in a spacesuit, almost every one of Salyut-7's episodic problem-solving sequences are grip-your-seat suspenseful. Sep 1, 2019 Full Review Anthony Kao Cinema Escapist This space rescue movie offers gripping suspense...and insight into Russian geopolitics. Aug 14, 2019 Full Review Víctor López G. Espinof The technical part and the narrative of the film look impeccable. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 18, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Kevin M The story is complete and the effects aren't bad, but just very typical overall Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Great special effects, especially in the space sequences, however, they are wasted on a plot that bears little resemblance to accounts of the Soyuz T13 mission that completed the successful repair of the dead Salyut 7 space lab. Even the names of the crew are different in the movie. I knew it was going to be bad when a spacewalking cosmonaut has her glove pierced by a spikey burr that formed on the base of a welding test article. It never happened, I checked. Then like a damsel in distress, her male colleague gathered her up and made sure she got to the airlock in time. On the plus side, many of the actors look like the people from the historical video played during the credits. If this had been promoted as a fictional piece, it would have been OK, but I was so dissapointed. This feels like a Vlad Putin Production, promoting his version of the history of the glorious USSR... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Eu achei o conserto da nave muito simples. Eles não tentaram maçarico, nem choque térmico. Não ficou claro o que a peça, braço, descartado fazia que impedia o funcionamento da estação. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Salyut 7 is really an outstanding movie in this genre and at least on par with movies like 'The Right Stuff', 'Gravity' and 'Apollo 13'. A must see for all space enthusiasts! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member The Russians can do great movies also... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought the whole Challenger plot was some Russian propaganda. Nope. It wasn't. Just wow!
