Medea is mostly known as the sorceress who aided the Greek warrior Jason in his search for the Golden Fleece. The two of them eventually married one another, but their union did not last long as Jason went off to marry another woman.

Betrayed and scorned, Medea retaliated in response by killing the new bride of his former lover, as well as the children that were born from their coupling.
