10,000 MANIACS GUITARIST DIES

ROBERT BUCK, the guitarist with 10,000 MANIACS, has died from complications caused by a disease to his liver.

According to US reports this morning, Buck died of multi-system organ failure as a result of liver failure in Pittsburgh on Tuesday (December 19). He had been in a critical condition at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Hospital since November 30, but died as doctors were trying to stabilise him.

According to [url=]www.mtv.com, a statement has been issued which said that “The band and family both applaud the efforts of the UPMC and its staff of doctors and nurses. They fought valiantly on Rob’s behalf.”

Buck, who was 42, was a founding member of the band with Natalie Merchant, Steven Gustafson, John Lombardo, and Dennis Drew in 1981. It is reported that funeral plans are being pencilled in for this coming weekend, in his hometown of Jamestown.
