Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. George Denham (illustrator). New edition. Pictorial laminated boards. Illustrated title page. Preface by the editor. First published in 1909, this is a facsimile reprint of the George Denham illustrated edition. Contains over 40 stories, in prose and poems, of Irish legend and fairy tales, with many great names in Irish literature included. Alfred Graves was an Anglo- Irish poet, songwriter and Civil Servant who fathered a large number of children, including a certain Robert Graves. When Graves fils published his autobiography, "Goodbye to All That", Graves pere responded with his side of the story in "To Return to All That"! But back to Irish myth and romance: this is a nicely done facsimile, packed with great writing and illustrated in a kind of Walter Crane style. Spine ends are just a little bumped, otherwise a fine copy in near fine dust jacket.
