While the Met Gala is all about delivering couture fantasies through the power of clothes, Gigi Hadid’s off-duty style takes a more stealthy approach to luxury fashion.
Two days after she turned heads on the steps of the Met in an enormous Thom Browne gown, the supermodel has returned to the streets of New York in a comparatively casual outfit. But, it doesn’t matter if she’s walking a red carpet or down the sidewalk—Hadid is still embodying the best of high fashion.
In fact, today’s outfit embraced rich-mom energy, with the 29-year-old putting a youthful twist on some springtime staples. She wore a flowing white collared shirtdress, but left it mostly unbuttoned, revealing underneath a sliver of midriff and a pair of straight-leg jeans in a classic light blue wash.
The Guest in Residence founder showed off her love of accessorizing by bringing out some splashy pieces, too, from a camel iteration of her favorite Miu Miu bag, the Arcadie, to diamond-encrusted jewelry pieces from Jacquie Aiche. Other accessories included a gold chain belt with a turquoise snakeskin buckle and narrow black shades. Finally, she polished off the look with a glittery champagne pair of mesh pointed-toe pumps.
Hadid shares three-year-old daughter Khai with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik. “I think that becoming a mom has made me realize that you just really have to start to get your eggs in a row and prioritize your time between being a mom and a person, and then also a working mom and person,” Hadid said in an interview with InStyle last year.
