Dacula is a suburb through and through; it is relatively smaller and quieter than larger surrounding cities and suburbs like Lawrenceville, Duluth, Atlanta, etc. Not much happens here outside of the primary and secondary school-related events during the academic year, but we have a few public parks nearby, a county library, and it feels safer than a few other cities I have lived in. Job opportunities are not very extensive for my target career (nursing), which is assuaged by the fact that we are not very far from a major hospital. I would love to see more recreational community engagement, especially because I love getting to know neighbors and building relationships, so it would be nice if someone could promote more community-based activities, and I would also love to learn how to be the kind of person who can help facilitate strong community relationships.
Dacula has a nice environment for as long as I have lived here. There have been very few problems, and the people I have met have been great. I would recommend this town to many people as it is also starting to slowly grow.
I've loved this area since I moved in. I moved in recently from Lawrenceville, Georgia. I noticed a major difference immediately. At first I thought my new house in Dacula was isolated and away from everything. However, I have grown accustomed to the roads and there's groceries stores, coffee shops, restaurants, there's a lot in Dacula. In Lawrenceville there was also a lot, but the area sucked because of its level of safety. I never felt really truly safe in Lawrenceville. Dacula is definitely a safer and better area.
I like the small-ish style of town and how all of the public schools in the district are very good and close-knit. There is a strong sense of community throughout the town, exemplified by the outreach and community service events the schools (mainly Dacula High School) hold. There is normally some event or sports game to go to and the town is always there to cheer on our falcons! I would like to see more small businesses in the area as most restaurants and shops are big chain companies.
Close to Buford, Atlanta, Athens. Majority of neighborhoods have swim and tennis . Schools are excellent, my kids attend Mountain View. Traffic exists but it’s not as bad as closer to the city. Majority white population but some neighborhoods are super diverse when you go past dacula high.
Small town northeast of Atlanta filled with tree-lined neighborhoods with a plethora of amenities. For families, Dacula homes are within 4 school districts. Archer, Dacula, Mill Creek and Mountain View. All of these schools are amazing but Mill Creek is on top academic wise. Gwinnett County schools are #1 in the state. The #1 public high school in Georgia is located in Gwinnett. Dacula has NO APARTMENTS and is one of the only cities in Gwinnett that still pushes against apartments. The only "apartments" Dacula allows are 55+ communities.
Close knit and historical town with a rural mixed with suburban feel. Dacula offers a small town vibe while being around 45 or so minutes from Atlanta and Athens. The more developed suburban Hamilton mill and Apalachee farms side of dacula has always been wealthier than the southern more rural side of dacula but overall all of dacula is quiet and safe. Neighbors watch out for each other and most home owners have lived here for over a decade so everyone knows each other.
Dacula is a small, tight-knit community that adds a lot of emphasis on family. There's a lot of ambiance and diversity, and overall it's a safe and satisfying place to raise children, however, if you want something more, you might want to reconsider. Considering where Dacula is located, it's not hard to find a group of friends or a community within the community. The only improvement Id make is to the highschool, it could definitely use more parent involvement and so on.
Not much around, I live close to Buford so that's where we go most of the time. I like it but I don't go to school here but the schools aren't bad
It is a very beautiful place to live with good schooling! However, the crime rate is a bit higher than I would like. There are plenty of family activities in Dacula as well.
Dacula has a friendly community and a small-town atmosphere that many people appreciate. It is a quiet and peaceful town with a slower pace of life. Dacula has several parks and recreational areas that are great for outdoor activities, including Harbins Park and Little Mulberry Park. Both offer trails for hiking and biking, as well as playgrounds, sports fields, and picnic areas. Dacula hosts several annual events that are popular with locals and visitors alike, including the Dacula Fall Festival, the Dacula Memorial Day Parade, and the Dacula July 4th Parade and Celebration.
It's good. its pretty clean and well put together. very lovely place to be. Parks are beautiful and its a great place to bring your kids.
Lots of diversity and has lots of Dollar Trees, no shortage of Waffle Houses either (a true staple of the south).
It is a very nice town. There are lots of great activities and food choices. The only bad thing is that sometimes there is really bad traffic especially at rush hour.
Dacula is a quiet growing neighborhood. It is good-looking and family-friendly. It is safe and organized for everyone to enjoy themselves.
I went to Mill Creek and it wasn't that diverse, but the neighborhoods are pretty nice. They are sort of strict tho if you live in a popular area.
Very peaceful and friendly! This is outside of the busy and noisey Altanta circle, but close enough to hop in your car and be anywhere in less than an hour!
