Wow. Experiences such beautiful views and a wonderful time. Rode motor bikes along the beach and it felt like a movie. It didn’t come out pricey at all. So much food places available! Stores for shirts and other memorabilia. There’s parking places available but you do have yo pay, however, it’s right on the beach. There is a lot of people selling, performing, and just there. Pet friendly. They do have a renting place for scooters and bikes but there are other ones on the street. We used those for less. Soooo pretty.

I've known this place for decades and it has changed quite a bit. This last visit was super pleasant. Less homeless, more public weed smoking. A bit of a tourist trap but super cool to have a rainbow life guard station, I love diversity and messing with homophobic tourist! Go Venice!

Loved every minute of my time there. Spent the day with wife and kids on a Saturday. Got there around 11. Got really busy and live around 1. Many cool vendors, items and food for sale at an affordable price, performers, and sights to see. Not to mention the beach is relaxing although there were a lot of people, everyone is chill. There were some homeless but isn't too bad tbh.

Beautiful beach. Cool vibes. Do all your favorite beach activities - lay out, play in sand, swim, surf, walk down the beach! Gorgeous rock formations. Lots of shopping, food joints, and beach side bars. When we went they were very strict on Covid vaccine cards and masks to enter the locations. Heads up!

The midday experience was nothing extraordinary. Multiples food options. Various other shops. Anyone really recommending tasting something from there? I didn’t really enjoy the bacon dog either. Mhhh… need to experience it at sunset next time and see how it goes!

A nice beach with soft sand that is great for sitting and watching and listening to the waves. Also great for people watching or if you like to watch surfers do their thing. The beach has a great boardwalk with many shops and places to eat. There are still some homeless and shady characters here and there so it is good to be wary of your surroundings at all times. Overall thought, it seems mostly safe and a great place for couples to have a good time.

Nice! Beautiful! Not so crowded between 6pm -8pm on a Monday. You also have areas to walk around, cycle, skate and have loads of fun! 🙂

So much to see, not enough time to see it. This place was amazing. Skate park. Foods to choose from. Rentals. Great way to spend time and money.

Beautiful walking area and has a lot of cool art, sights and weirdos to keep you entertained. Very safe to walk around.

Lovely place to be. Small Broadway with shops, a skatepark, police station and a restroom can be found here. Can be very crowded during summer and other peak times so I suggest people with cars to visit Malibu beach where there's cleaner water for swimming.

The beach is very big and clean. There are so many things to do at the pier. Various kind of rides and local food shops at the pier makes it a happening place. We tried coffee and veggie burger at two nearby shops and though little crowded, they were worth the wait. Be sure to keep masks with you, entrance in the shops without mask is restricted. There are also bicycle rentals just after the public parking area at the beach. The parking is available from sunrise to sunset with 7$ fee. There are many sand volleyball courts too. We loved our time there and will visit it soon.

Beautiful beach with plenty of things to do. There are volleyball areas, trail for walking, jogging and biking. Places to eat and hangout. Gets crowded even in the morning.

Extremely neat and clean beach of Los Angeles, loved the vibe of the beach, felt extremely relaxed. Restrooms are available. You can view Santa Monica pier from this beach, the water is crystal clear and the sound of waves will make the ambience so amazing, I recommend visiting this beach if u are in LA.

Santa Monica is definitely one of our favorites beaches! 😍 It has really has golden sands, there is a huge area to enjoy sports, beach games, relax, rest, have drinks or simply lay down and enjoy the sun! The beach is delicious, water temperature is just perfect (or at least it was in summer). The pier is beautiful and it has a great vibe and a lot of things to do and eat or drink 👍 There are many restaurant, bars and small stores in a huge side walk, perfect to ride bikes, rollerblades, or walk ;0)

We spent one evening at this place , nice outings, very good view of the skyline and beach . it has amusement rides also over there and many restaurants etc . it has long neat beach.

There is always a moment in the day when you can relax on the beach. The best, in the morning with the fresh breeze of the sea or in the evening at sunset, magical, enchanting and sometimes cold! You can swim, the water is surprising, be careful with the waves that can put the little ones on the sand. Otherwise it is magic a beach like this one in some miles of the city.

One of the nicest beach in LA probably in California too, the beach pier is really amazing. The beach shore is really large and lots of beach activities like skating, Para-Sailing and others available to do in pacific ocean. Remains crowded for most of the day being one of the most popular beach. For that reason also it's really hard to find parking nearby. Aquarium is in the last corner of the pier, which is also magnificent and must not be missed. A must visit place while in Los Angeles .

One of the best beaches in LA county. It's very clean there is some parking on upper streets. It's not crowded. Good sand and great waves. Clean bathroom and there is parking available.

Really like Manhattan Beach. It’s got great big clean beaches, lots of bar and restaurant options, and best of all…it has not been overrun by homeless encampment tents like some other beach areas (eg Venice Beach - which is now sadly a place to avoid). Manhattan beach is clean, upscale and awesome! We ate at Esperanza (fancy), Pancho’s (fun) , El Tarasco (take out), Pitfire pizza (good), Wild Cafe (nice) and also did Bolero Bowling (nearby fun). The Pier has an Aquarium at the end (small) but it is free!! Go! Have fun. Stay at the Sea View Inn - it’s nice and has a great location! VictorB

Great beach with a nice neighborhood. It is close to the airport, so you can see planes going up to down sometimes. There is also a sidewalk for cyclists or pedestrians who want to have a walk after dinner!

Great beach area to lay out on a beach blanket, towel or lounge chair! Excellent shore to walk along, in addition to the Strand. The ocean surf here is moderate for surfing, good for bodyboarding and great for swimming! The beach here is well staffed with local police and lifeguards. Trash containers are plentiful and restrooms are spaced out for convenience.

Perfect for walking or riding bike for miles …. clean beach. Lot’s of restaurants to grab some food. Beachvolleyball and beachtennis fields…. Puplic toilets are available. Go to Marthas on 22nd for a nice brunch !

One of my favorite beaches in California hands down 🩷 We visited this beach twice during our stay and we had fun both times. Its not as crazy (or dirty) as the ones closer to downtown LA. Also! The whole area by the pier has some awesome nightlife! And even better food. We definitely are coming/staying around here again

Beautiful beach! Water is blue and though there is not enough flat shoreline for my girls to play safely in the water they still had fun! While we were grabbing water from the ocean to the beach for the girl to play with their toys we catch some sea lice!! Fun to watch before we release them back! The lifeguard was there and he was doing his job at keeping people safe too! Alerting us to be safe as there was currently a ripped current and the water was pulling more than usual which we could see! There was still lots of people but not crowded there all for the same reasons as us! Relax and have fun! I couldn't see any beach parking here we had to find a parking on the street and pay per hour fee which was not bad!! Overall great beach! Sorry no pics this time.

I love Hermosa. The beach is a nice place to walk, or bike, with or without a dog. I love to sit on the pier with watercolors and paint the sky, so relaxing. There are so many great places here to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at,and a couple great dessert places too. Parking is the only issue,it's hard to find a spot. The community center is a great place to take awesome class, they have a great local theater,and awesome senior center. The parks are great too. I love South Parks playground.

Malibu’s best beach. It’s clean and well maintained with public restrooms and showers to rinse off sand. You can take a 5+ mile walk. Porpoise often visit the surface of the glossy waves. There is a medley of birds that inhabit the beach including green parrots.

Pretty nice, very windy at the time. Some garbage, but it's of season. Nice treat to see a Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter run drills in front of us.

Great sandy beach. Saw dolphins nearby to beach, didn't swim, water was cold. The beach is amazing and was not so crowded. $6 for parking but you can do free parallel parking for checking the beach.

Hands down the most beautiful public beach in Malibu. It was clean, there aren’t many people there, and very peaceful. Do not pay the $15 for parking. You can park in the street and just walk over the barrier onto the beach.

This is a fabulous place to visit during the weekdays when it is truly more secluded. A great place to take to take a break, meditate, read and write, or just do nothing.

I would currently not at all recommend that beach. We had to pay 8$ for the day and got really nothing apart from closed restrooms, dirty and not working showers, trash cans which were more than full. I can definitely understand why people park outside next to the highway, it's a shame to charge money for the current situation. Seems like they are renewing some things, but can't tell how long that will take. Safe your money and go somewhere else.

What can you say about this beach besides the SoCal jewel. The sunsets, the mountainous backdrop, the perfect surf. Only drawback is all the people and struggle to find parking, but what can you expect at one of the best beaches in California. Zuma Beach will always have a special spot in my feels.

This is a wonderful beach in Malibu. This beach has beautiful scenery of the lagoon and ocean, room to find a spot for your belongings on the beach, and it looks like you could walk to the pier if you wanted to :) The only downside is that the parking lot is small and there can also be a jam to get into it. So if there is a line, be prepared to wait.

This is a lovely place to sit and relax, swim and wade around in the tide pools. Super relaxing and picturesque.

Do you want to enjoy a sunset with seals, Whales, and quiet serenity in every direction? Here. It's simply here. I'd already driven across the entire country and wondered what difference a beach could make. Especially in the windy bliss of March. But this place.... It was like a magical, spiritual force washed over me and cleansed any pain and stress I'd acquired up to that point. The full grace of God is at work here as I even opened my Highland 12 to share a drink to his majesty in creating such a place and experience that I was blessed having known. Truly the best things in life are free. Sure it may cost you gas to get there, but that price turns meaningless when you gaze out on a sunset like I had that day. Thank you Malibu 🥲

Such a beautiful beach! I ended up there just after the sun had set and the sky was beautiful! The tide was coming in and pretty close to the rock wall but it was still a great walk along the shore. Seems like a great location for a photo shoot with the rock formations as there were many photographers taking pictures of people there. There’s a parking lot with a decent amount of parking and port a potties.

My favorite beach in Malibu. It’s beautiful! The plants, wild flowers, rocks and the beach! It’s serene. Typically it’s very quiet here. Love strolling, picnicking, swimming or exercising.

This is a nice beach. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This beach isn’t very wide, and there are bluffs on the edge of it. Because of this, there are two staircases connecting the beach with the parking lot. This beach is nice and sandy and has a natural arch that looks really cool. There aren’t many waves here so the sea is pretty calm. I gave this beach five stars because it looks very nice and has a cool arch.

This place deserves 5 stars as a place but the parking is horrible, so is the parking lot. I really enjoyed walking around and spending time at the beach. That part is extremely enjoyable. Parking is impossible, and if you have a car be careful about the potholes. You would think given they charge for parking they would take care of the lot. I recommend going but just park on the highway if you are with adults, if you are with kids, skip this place. Too dangerous to try and navigate the parking situation.

Only if so many ‘wannabes’ and countless photographers wouldn’t crowd it ! If you are someone who likes to sit , enjoy, get lost in sound of waves crashing across beautiful rock structures.. may be hit something else but this particular beach. Otherwise rock structures are absolutely stunning. Parking can be tricky but definitely plan on grabbing a spot in designated parking lot that on street since there is no pedestrian crossing.

Amazing views & incredible beach. It does get very busy tho & it’s small that’s unfortunate.. It’s a bit of a hike going back up from the beach to the parking lot, Paid parking available but go early because you may not find any.

Amazing beach! Clean and wonderful parking, trails, and beach with optional campsites. We enjoyed an afternoon walking along the beach and enjoying the trails and views from up high. We loved climbing the rocks! There was a lot to see and enjoy and folks could spend a long afternoon or morning here swimming, walking, and enjoying a picnic. The staff were friendly, too!

Nice clean campsite. There are water facets for cleaning throughout the site. The restrooms are clean and showers are token operated so bring some cash for the token machines next to the restrooms (2 mins/$1) or purchase some token at the check in booth with cash or card. There are three general stores throughout the campground and they have the basic things for camping and coffee. They also take credit cards. We camped at site 88, it was shaded but rocky like most sites next to the riverbeds. I noticed the sites in the middle are less rocky. There are fire pits here. There’s a beach access under the highway which is walkable. Quite beach in the morning.

Spectacular ocean and mountain views with an unparalleled sunset. Make it a point to visit the north side of the park, as there are many coves and the beach is not rocky, as is the south side. Park across PCH in the parking lot and walk under the highway to the beaches.

Great camping ground. We'll taken care of and beautiful. Walked over to the beach where we got to see ocean life in the tide pools exposed die to morning low tide. This is a protected beach. Does not have beautiful white sand but rocks and other wonderful things to explore

I only spent time along the beach due to the park being "closed" from recent flood damage. The beach and rock formations are beautiful. It's a clean and interesting area. I look forward to visiting again when it back in full swing.

First time here. I love it. Another great park. No food no water no restroom. The trail is not too hard. Nice pond beautiful scenery.

Truly loved it here. The flower fields, lighthouse and rocks are so pretty. Be careful walking along the rocks as the waves get unexpectedly bigger occasionally and could sweep you away. Parking is free but limited along the road.

Nice to place to chill with your fam. Lots of families around enjoying the day. NO DOGS ALLOWED THOUGH, TICKETS WERE GIVEN TO PEOPLE WITH DOGS. Otherwise all is great.

Beautiful beach with a pier. Pier has a theme park with roller coaster ride and other fun activities. Ticket to individual ride ranges from $5-10 and for unlimited rides, it's $40. Beach has bicycle/walkways track. This beach 🏝️ could be a perfect spot for spending weekend with friends and families. Kids are gonna love it for sure.

Must visit area while In LA. Active place with so many shops and lovely vibes.

One of the beautiful beach in Los Angeles, easy to access from the downtown, just take the train going to Santa Monica downtown for 45 minutes. $3.75 only!

It’s not good to compare to enjoy the own vibe. I loved Venice beach and Santa Monica beach both! They have different vibes. Even though it was rainy when i visited Santa Monica beach, I love the vigorous vibe, and people being excited. There are some restaurants and shops to enjoy, and some rides. I recommend you to visit here as well! 🏖️🎡🌴

this is the place you want to be at. great views and plenty to do. food entertainment and more. you can rent a bike or electric bike and ride the paths or just walk it. you can find a nice spot and just hang out. whatever it is that you like or want to do you can do it here.

This is a very nice beach, the place and the weather were right. My last day in L.A. I spent there and I was worthy.

Great facility for kids and Prospects of all ages to get their baseball kicks in. Wonderful partnership with local Little League programs, this facility is much appreciated.

Had a great time here! Be ready for the crowds of people that come here and bring your jacket because it can get pretty cold. There are many great spots to take pictures and spend time with family and friends here. We enjoyed the views entering the pier area and leading down to the actual pier. There are a variety of food options and many vendors providing custom gifts. We had some amazing funnel cakes and bought souvenir pictures for our group. This is a great spot for a day or night experience.

Santa Monica Pier is fantastic place to visit both for tourists and locals. I'm sure locals don't come here on a busy weekend evening but our friends who live in Malibu come here quite a bit when its not crowded. It really is a fun and historic place... from being the last stop on Iconic Route 66 to the food shops available, street food, street performers and fantastic sunsets, this pier is huge with tons of life and activities.. You can easily spend 4 hours here so plan accordingly. The parking can be tricky as the weekends are very very busy but there are many underground nearby parking lots and if you don't mind taking a walk there is lots of parking deeper into Santa Monica away from the beach. The pier is just lots of fun and easily top destination when visiting Southern California. Also, the cost of trinkets and souvenirs is not that high since there is a lot of competition. Overall people are very friendly and patient.. everyone is here to enjoy themselves and eventually wait for the beautiful sunset.. so plan to get your spot on the pier to record an amazing California sunset.

This is a neat place to visit. There weren't many people when we came because it was right after the tsunami warning expired. It was nice to casually tour without too much foot traffic. Parking costs, so be prepared for that. We paid $10 and parked across the street in a garage. It's a nice place to see if you're a tourist.

We went on a Sunday. Beautiful weather and plenty to do. It was just a day trip, so we only spent a couple hours there. I can't wait to go back so we can take our time and experience more. Great place to spend the day. Very kid friendly, we took our 10 year old. The beach is clean and wasn't too crowded. It was really nice and worth seeing, even with limited time.

Loved it beautiful area, large parking lot right under pier. While parking is $15.00 it was free for disabled visitors. The assortment of restaurants, souvenir shops, rides and attractions not to mention the fantastic ocean views is perfect for guests of all ages.

Lively place, full of entertainment with so many fun activities nearby happening. Amazing place to roam around in the evening time specially. Always remains crowded, mainly due to the pacific park in the pier which is super cool with tons of rides and games to enjoy. Ample parking places available nearby, so parking is not a problem here. Probably one of the most happening night beach in California. Highly recommended to visit while in LA.

Beach is so beautiful. Nice sandy beach and nice pier. There is a parking fee of $15 . Be ready to face crowds during summer holiday seasons. Lot of rides for kids to have extra fun. Some grip of street entertainers are also entertaining people with some dance and stunt show.. even drone shows after sunset. In sort complete entertaining place for family ..

Santa Monica Pier is easily in my top 5 favourite places ever! I live in Canada, but I have made the effort to fly to LA at least once a year just to go to the pier, for the last 10+ years. The all-day wrist bands are priced well, and the rides are endlessly awesome! I highly recommend riding the roller coaster during sunset. It is breathtaking. The food options are great along the entire length of the pier, and the scenic views are lovely from all sides. This is a great place for a date night, family day out, or just a friends day! I even got a tattoo of Santa Monica Pier a couple of years ago; I really do love it!

The tour is ok. The parking lot is small & price average for the area. The pool is closed during the winter months, but does get pretty busy when open. A lot of mom's have their kids playing in the sand play area. The cafe is nice and also priced for the area.

Always a beautiful time there. The staff has always been friendly and it’s the best hidden spot in a community center in LA! Great views, great place to write a book and a show there. I did both!

This spot makes you feel like you're visiting your fortunate friend. Drive into the drive and park. The parking fee is cheaper than other lots. There is a cafe with good food, not fast food. They have a small park area for the kids to play on gym equipment. There is a pool with 113 capacity and as many lounging chairs. They have an event center for rent. Check out the second floor observation deck. There are tables and chairs next to the Marion Davis guest house. It's closed right now due to Covid but usually open for tours. You can rent a bike to ride the dedicated bike path. You can sun/swim on the beach til closing. This place feels private but it's open to all. We went on a week day in February so it was not crowded. What a fabulous place. We'll rent bikes on our next visit.

Great place to visit. South parking usually fills up fast, but there is a North parking lot that is better to park at. As soon as you drive in, hang a quick right and down the narrow road to the back. Parking is $12 for the day.

Great place to spend the day with your family or friends! There is ample parking, a small playground, a splash pad, cafe, and more! You can get a free tour of the guest house weekdays from 12pm-2pm. Beach access as well! Annenberg has tons of options and even has wheelchairs to use in the sand!

Beautiful space for celebrations, receptions, corporate events and training. Fairly easy to get to as far as beach properties go. Lots of parking.

Went here to see the ocean and dip my toes in the water. It was beautiful and peaceful.

A great big huge area..great for events ...the bums get on the property a lot and no one seems to be in charge of getting them out. The should have better kitchen facilities. But great pool and stunning views of the ocean.

This is a great place to go spend a day at the pool, have a private event or meeting, or to go and take a tour of the Marion Davies House. The tour of the house is awesome and very historical. The tour guides were great and gave a lot of fantastic information about the historical significance of the house and the area. Come check it out and spend some time in the sun at the beach. You can not go wrong!

8 year old birthday at the beach ⛱️ What a fantastic day! There's a play area also, splash/ water pads. The volleyball net area is available. Restrooms If you want to have lunch there's a restaurant. It is a very clean and well maintained park. Pay parking.

We visited on a very beautiful morning and it was quiet and the atmosphere was fresh. Clean and well maintained premises. So many surfers were practicing their surfing skills on the amazing waves. It is a great and unique experience to stand on this pier and watch the majestic waves in the ocean. Feels like just staying there and to keep watching the the waves. Pleasant weather. Beautiful experience.

This is a beautiful spot where you can enjoy cool breeze. This is on US 1 state highway and you will find ample parking lots. You can walk over the beach and pier will be amazing if you visit in the evening or night. Santa Monica peir is overrated and this is underrated. There is a small shop and restaurant over the pier and food is affordable.

Amazing place, we stopped by here on our way back to San Francisco. Extremely clean beach and pristine waters. The beach is accessible by the stairs. There’s a flat parking fee of $20 to park by the pier so try finding parking nearby. Restrooms are available.

We stopped by the Malibu Sports Fishing Pier back in December 2018, while travelling from Los Angeles, California to San Francisco, California. The place had some gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean and the famous Malibu beach. There are some nice locals restaurants near this place where one can enjoy some sumptuous grubs, if you're planning to stop here. Here are pictures of the place from 2018, enjoy.

Super clean and chill. Beautiful beach. There is a restaurant on the pier itself. Bit pricey but the view is priceless. Must visit if you are in California. Parking is $15 next to the pier but you can park on the street too.

Incredible view. You must watch sunset if you can. There is plenty of parking along side the road. Though we parked in Malibu state beach park parking and the entire day parking costed only $15 but you can park in free parking area.

This place was a big disappointment. My daughter was excited to show us this restaurant while we were in LA visiting her. The atmosphere is great and the drinks look amazing, but that’s about the extent of what is good. The food is not great. It is over priced for how mediocre it truly is. The drinks are watered down and just not good. We were sat at a table right next to the bar with a trash can overflowing and spilling on the ground. I couldn’t get over the smell of trash the wind would whip our way, so we asked to relocate to a different table. Once we were at our new table it took almost 20 minutes for our waiter to come over. The entire dinner was spent looking for our waiter. We finally started asking the other waiters for help. We ordered the Shrimp Paradise. For that price you would expect more. The dish is mainly a rice and corn mix with shrimp on top. I won’t visit this restaurant next trip. Too many wonderful options in the LA and Malibu area to waste a dinner here.

Honestly one of my favorites. They have a fun menu with a lot of options. Very fun drinks as well! We had to wait a bit to be seated, but enjoyed exploring the beach while doing so. All plates had generous portions. We ordered the chocolate cake thinking it wouldn’t be *that* big… but it was massive and SO good. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a fun, casual place to go with a menu to please anyone. Or if you’re looking for a place along the water/outdoor seating! I had the patty melt which was very good, as you can see I forgot to take a picture before I started eating!

So a couple of things to consider before spending the money and the time to go to this place. Is the food worth the trip and money. I would have to say yes. It is a unique on the beach dining experience. The food is pricey sure but it is consistently good to excellent. The Sour Dough Bowl creamy clam chowder is legend. The menu has enough diverse choices enough for almost every taste. The view is on some days spectacular. I would say to get your bang for the buck be sure to reserve a table and meal to avoid the $65 parking fee. If you eat in they only charge you $15 bucks for 4 hours. So have a picnic plop yourself unto the beach and enjoy!

Beautiful restaurant by Malibu beach. Love the vibe there. Interesting choice of foods and drinks. The portions are really big, so two people can easily share one dish. The place is quite expensive - you pay for its gorgeous location and the food quantity. Even though this restaurant has lots of tables, if you want to sit on the sand, make sure to book your table in advance. They have lots of framed pictures on the wall about the history of the place - which tells you how old this place is. Do try the strawberry milkshake - it was delicious.

LOVE IT! the wait was only 20 minutes, not bad at all. It was worth the wait. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful, our food and drinks were great. I can't wait to come back. We had the Barcelona Seafood grill. It was a lot of food, and honestly, four people could eat from this order. I can't wait to come back

$10 per adult and kids free. Its not what we were expecting. Personally i was very disappointed because of limited species they had. The entire aquarium took me around 10 minutes to see however my daughter had a blast and that's what all matters.

The Heal the Bay aquarium is an amazing little gem located in Santa Monica that plays a vital role in educating both kids and adults on the importance of preserving marine life and our eco-systems. Despite its small size, this aquarium packs a punch with its informative displays and hands-on exhibits that are both engaging and interactive. We organized our son’s 7th birthday there - as they can host kids birthday parties - and one of the things that stood out was the aquarium's focus on local marine life and the importance of preserving our local eco-systems. It was refreshing to see an aquarium that was so dedicated to educating visitors on ocean pollution and the actions we can take to protect our oceans. We organized a beach clean up with our guests and they all participated with passion and dedication. Overall, I found the Heal the Bay aquarium to be extremely informative and engaging atop of being an original place to organize a birthday party. It's clear that the staff and volunteers are passionate about marine life and conservation, and their enthusiasm is contagious. I highly recommend a visit to this cozy, little aquarium for anyone interested in learning more about marine life and our role in preserving it.

We went here on a Saturday afternoon. There was a room in the back where they had a person at a microscope showing kids what all is in the water. Got to see brine shrimp, baby moon jellys, and other cool sites. There are a ton of things to touch in the touch tanks and they have some cool fish on display. For the kids it was all about the microscope learning!

Some of the fish here seem a little bored. Some tanks were crowded, imo. But the workers were friendly. A nice way to spend an afternoon, and get out of the heat.

We just had a birthday party for our 3 years old, and we had a such a great time! All the staff were amazing and incredibly friendly. We had Colleen as our coordinator and she was really great as well. 2 hours went by really quick with all the activities they offered. It is not a huge aquarium but it still had all the cool sea animals that small kids had fun looking at. The touch tank was great as well. A lot of other parents who attended the party said that it was really cool venue!

Nice, smaller aquarium with many hands-on displays where visitors can pet aquatic life such as sharks, sting rays, and sea stars. The aquarium is located under the Santa Monica pier—follow the ramp or stairs down to find it. Entrance is free for kids under 12 with an adult ticket, which makes it an entertaining and affordable family option. There is also a small lab, movie/craft room, and camp and volunteer activities offered at the museum. Everything is on one floor and easily walkable/reachable for small kids. Be sure to check the special events calendar on their website for activities such as shark feeding.

Heal the Bay may be a bit small, but they provide a lot of information in limited space. If you want to see more species, this is probably not the place. However, they have starfish, turtle shells, dolphins, and anti-cigarette displays too. You can actually touch some of them. I personally think it is more ideal for younger kids. When I went yesterday, there was a special college group outside offering a free display of shark fin and jaws.
