About
Paul & Jimmy's Restaurant has been a landmark in the historic Gramercy Park neighborhood since 1950. The father and son tandem of Louis and Greg Azzollini continue to serve old-country-style Italian dishes, as well as, innovative specials prepared daily. All plates are crafted with the freshest of ingredients, many sourced locally from the farmers market. Louis always welcomes you as part of the family and Chef Greg makes sure each dish would proudly be served to "Nonna."

What a wonderful place to have lunch with friends. This was my first visit here but I will be sure to come back. We were able to have a wonderful lunch with great wine while we sat undisturbed. The waiter was professional and was quick to attend to our needs. One of us had the Prix Fixe meal and we were sorry that the rest of us did not get it. The baked clams were the best ones I have seen in a long time. The eggplant parmigiana and spumoni were so good. I had the Orechiette Alla Baresi- excellent. Our other friend had the Fettuccine Filetto Di Pomodoro which she deemed as very good. There was enough of the main course for us to take some home to enjoy. Our friend said that she has often had family gatherings here and , in fact is having another one here this fall. I highly recommend the place especially since it was not so noisy that it was difficult to hear.

We had Sunday family lunch at Paul and Jimmy’s.The restaurant had a warm family atmosphere.The service was excellent.The food was delicious.Some of us chose the lunch prix fixe that included an appetizer ,an entree and a dessert for a reasonable price.If you are ever in the Gramercy section of New York City, this restaurant is worth checking out.

A good friend recommended his family's favorite restaurant, Paul & Jimmy's. We made reservations for dinner as a reward for completing the 5 Borough Bike Tour and our experience was everything we could have hoped for that evening. The bike ride had left us pretty ravenous so when the veal chop special was recommended I decided to follow that wise advice. My husband had the daintier but equally delicous chicken special. The veal chop was expertly prepared, huge and just wonderful.
We loved the atmosphere. It seemed obvious that this is a place where locals come for a great dinner as well. Can't wait to come back sometime soon!

It was like heaven in my mouth. Everyone was extremely Welcoming and efficient and especially our host, Peter. Our three courses came within 5 minutes after finishing our earlier course. Thank you for this great experience.

Only just discovered this place; amazing. Very friendly service but the food. Three of us ate very different meals, every plate was clean by the time we had finished. Home-cooked style Italian food - absolutely delicious!

With so many Italian restaurants throughout the city, it’s easy for them to start to blend together. It’s also easy to have a couple misses here or there, which is always disappointing with the prices you pay for pasta.
With that being said, Paul & Jimmy’s was outstandingly authentic and our favorite Italian restaurant find as far as the food and dining experience as a whole.
We sat outside at a lovely little table underneath string lights on a quiet, no thru-traffic street that didn’t smell like trash!!! (Tends to be a big problem with outdoor dining elsewhere, as expected)
They serve you warm, delicious bread with an unbelievable Italian olive oil. We had calamari with a tomato dipping sauce, the gnocchi, and a fettuccine pasta with pancetta, prosciutto, plum tomatoes, and olive oil. The pasta is all homemade as well. Prices and serving sizes are incredibly reasonable.
Finally, they have an extensive wine list (😍) and a lovely, attentive and friendly staff.

We stopped by here because they had a great happy hour. We had a snack and several drinks at great prices for the city. The bar was quiet and our service was good!

We enjoyed a family meal at P & J restaurant. A warm welcome was received from the staff, they were highly attentive throughout the evening. The food was sensational the whole family enjoyed, I had the lasagna absolutely delicious. The restaurant is snug with a warm ambiance. Next time in NYC we’ll definitely be back.

Met 4 old high school friends for drinks and dinner.....small bar area but cozy....attentive and personable bartenders.....had 2 scotches..neat.....generous pour before sitting down for dinner....dining area soon filled up ...mostly a younger but quiet crowd ...nice...........good wine list and we enjoyed 3 bottles with dinner....we shared 3 apps.....generous portions ..all,good.....we each had a different entre.....I had a chicken dish with sausage,,pepper and onions....tasty ......I,skipped,desert but my friends enjoyed theirs.....menu features a number of veal and chicken dishes as well as some seafood including bronzino......an enjoyable experience

The restaurant was completely full. It must be a very popular place. The food came fast and it was very good. A bit pricey. The server was excellent, he was always there when we looked for him. Considering a high price for spaghetti or pasta or salad, I was going to rate the restaurant four points but since we loved the food and service, I give it a five.

Paul & Jimmy's has got to be one of the finest Italian restaurants in NYC. We have begun to make it our "go-to" place when we want to be guaranteed a fabulous experience. The drinks are always well made and generous. The appetizers - especially the stuffed clams and the fried calamari are both delicious and a large enough portion to share with your dining partners. The bread is also amazing. Definitely listen to the specials for the day - I recently had a stuffed "brown & white meat chicken roll" to die for - in a white lemon sauce. Lately I've been ordering just about any pasta on the menu - the latest was penne with shrimp, sun-dried tomatoes and peas. Yum, yum! The pasta is always cooked perfectly al dente. We're heading back there again this Sunday and my mouth is already watering.

Celebrations are always best with great food and family and that was what we had this weekend at Paul and Jimmys! Its a small neighborhood place with a slightly older person vibe and intimate ambiance. Great for locals and visitors alike. All of our dishes were great...shrimp risotto, orichette special, chicken and sausage, clams and more. Good wine list and nice cocktails too. Only suggestion is to add some ventilation to the back round table as it gets hot back there while you are eating all that food!!! Thanks P&J!

For really excellent italian food this is the place to go - - - not Little Italy. It's also a neighborhood restaurant for those who live here. It used to be down the block but moved when the not to be named steak house moved up town.
You can tell the waiter you want an assortment of appetizers for 4 & the chef will create something for you not on the menu. They are always willing to make what you want, how you want it so it's really hard to recommend any one item.
Just go - you won't be sorry.
