If you’ve added an email address to your Reddit account, you can request an email to reset your password and log in. Unfortunately, if you haven’t added an email address to your account, you’re locked out until you can remember your password.
To reset your password:
- Below the username and password fields, select the Forgot password? link.
(Note: If you’re using the old version of Reddit, the link is Reset password.) - Enter your Reddit username or email address, then press Reset Password. If you entered a valid username we’ll use the email associated with the account to send you a password reset. If you’re not getting an email for your password reset, check your spam or junk folder.
- Tap on the Reset Password link in your email to reset your password.
- If you entered your email address and you have multiple accounts, you will be directed to a screen to choose which account you’d like to reset the password for.
- Enter and confirm your new password, then tap Continue.
- At the bottom of the login screen, tap the Forgot password link.
- Enter your Reddit username or email address, then press Reset Password. If you entered a valid username we’ll use the email associated with the account to send you a password reset. If you’re not getting an email for your password reset, check your spam or junk folder.
- Tap on the Reset Password link in your email to reset your password.
- If you entered your email address and you have multiple accounts, you will be directed to a screen to choose which account you’d like to reset the password for.
- Enter and confirm your new password, then tap Continue.
The links provided in these emails are time-sensitive, so if you click the link and it doesn’t work, try requesting a new password reset.
If you haven't received your password reset email, there could be a few reasons why.
