Saw the first movie once and loved it, but knew that the sequels were different beasts. I'm not bothered by the change in the lead as the action is great and a lot of the issues in the movie are very grounded and are similar to things from The Dark Knight reality. If you like your heroes dark, then get this trilogy.
Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2023
As a long-time fan of the Darkman franchise, I was thrilled to see this trilogy finally available on Blu-ray. And let me tell you, the high-definition transfer does not disappoint. The colors are rich, the contrast is sharp, and the picture quality overall is simply stunning.

But it's not just the visuals that make this collection worth owning. The three films themselves are a true testament to the brilliance of Sam Raimi's direction and the raw talent of Liam Neeson as the titular character, Dr. Peyton Westlake.

From the moment the first film opens, you're transported into a world of dark, gritty action and suspense, as Dr. Westlake's life is shattered by a ruthless gang and he's forced to use his skills as a scientist to become Darkman, a vigilante hero seeking vengeance.

As the trilogy progresses, we see Darkman face off against increasingly dangerous foes, from a ruthless businessman played by Larry Drake to a corrupt government agent portrayed by Jeff Fahey. And with each new challenge, Darkman's powers grow and evolve, leading to some truly awe-inspiring action scenes.

But what really sets the Darkman Trilogy apart is its blend of humor and heart. Despite the dark subject matter, there are plenty of moments of levity and humanity throughout the series, from Darkman's interactions with his love interest, Julie Hastings (played brilliantly by Frances McDormand), to the quirky side characters who populate the world.

Overall, I cannot recommend the Darkman Trilogy on Blu-ray enough. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the series or just looking for some thrilling, entertaining cinema, this collection is an absolute must-have. So don't hesitate to add it to your collection today!

The product was fine, nothing wrong. The only thing was this movie was ENTIRELY different from how I remembered it! I thought it was a serious, noir movie, but it's a slapstick comedy!

Great and complete boxset, the first movie is a nice collector's edition with recent interviews with castmembers.
Good HD picture and HD-MA 5.1 sound.
Part 2 and 3 are with HD picture and stereo soundmix and only the trailers as extras. For the fans and collector's!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Cult Movie

Being a big Sam Raimi fan, I had great expectations for this 'Darkman', and I wasn't disapointed, it's a marvelous thriller, with plenty atmosphere and a tribute to old horror movies. The two sequels are, in my opinion, surprinsingly good, keeping the comic inspiration and lots of fun, with a little ocasional cheesiness for good measure. Highly recomended!
The first disc has good extras about the movie, the others just the trailer.
