The best parts of my experience in this school would be the arts programs. I was heavily involved in the band and theater programs in my school and both (mainly band) provided students unique opportunities to present their skills as well as provided many outings such as school field trips to festivals and big traveling trips that provided me with great memories and worthwhile experiences. The worst parts of my experience would have to be other kids who didn't care for the school and would vandalize and disrespect the building and people around them.
I would say MCHS is a typical high school experience. For me, I wish they would have put more money into their theater department, as we are genuinely really good at what we do. However, for whatever reason, they put a lot of money into their football team, a team that loses every game (except for maybe 1) each year. Besides that, I enjoyed my time at MCHS.
At McHenry Community High School District No. 156, I have learned how to thrive in an academic environment. I would like to see more inclusiveness and kindness in the school environment.
