Watched on Amazon Prime. Really didn’t care much about this one not even Marion Cotillard’s decent performance couldn’t save this one.
Filmed on a potato, by a potato.
This is a real stinker of a movie and Marion Cotillard was not enough to save it. The premise had me intrigued, but the story was terrible, the cameraman may as well have been a gorilla, and the sound design was atrocious.
To say this was half baked gives it too much credit. More like taken out to thaw and forgotten about, leading to the soggy ruined mess I just endured.
The way it’s clear Marion Cotillard is too tired from all the running she’s doing in this movie to give a decent performance 💀
Pretty quickly into watching this I thought, "Is this a TV movie? It looks and feels like a TV movie." It was Made For French TV two decades ago, so treat it like that and its perfectly OK.
Tons of people on here are complaining about the sound quality which just means they listened to it on headphones while watching on a phone or tablet. Or, it means they are unemployed sound designers and mad about it. Nobody in 2001 French TV movie making thought they would need a Dolby Labs level of sound design for a movie-of-the-week because in the future people would watch this on a streaming platform with headphones on and then write online reviews about it.…
i think the director specifically told marion to walk, run, and even stand in a way that would make her tits jiggle the absolute most, in any and every shot.
Marion Cotillard is never bad in anything as this film proves. The movie is very paint by the numbers and dated - the year 2000 wasn't THAT long ago. The music spends the length of the movie screaming at you "Here I am! I'm the Music! Something Sinister is About to Happen!"
This is not a movie. This is an episode in a television series. The reason that they're selling it as a movie is because of the lovely Marion Cotillard. The acting is pretty bad. Soap opera quality. For Cotillard competists only.
Regles des "films thriller":
Regle un: don't have an affair, no matter how brief, because bad things are bound to happen
Regle deux: don't show up at the funeral of the guy you are accused of killing
Regle trois: it really, really sucks to be the patsy
Regle quatre: trust no one
Regle cinq: merde!
Marion is pretty good but everything else is Lifetime original level trash. Still wondering how she can out run everyone, barefoot, in a long skirt.
If this movie was actually made properly, it would be at least decent. Instead, it's a TV movie with brilliant actors and a horrible cameraman. The story is halfway good.
