We had a very nice return trip to Stowe Mountain Lodge. Management reached out to us after our first unpleasant experience and allowed us to return on. Second visit, in a room that would my face construction. This visit was much better. The Lodge is very clean and the skiing facility is wonderful. Skiing was extremely enjoyable, with no lines, electronic entrance scanning and beautiful slopes. We will probably be returning to the Lodge in a future season.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights in February. The vibe was evident the moment we arrived. It was warm, welcoming, friendly and peaceful. Our room (Timberline Studio) was spacious, cosy and had a wonderful view looking out on to Spruce Peak. The gas fireplace was a nice touch as my partner had a cold and was happy to curl up on the sofa and read. We dined at Solstice and Hourglass and were never disappointed. The food and service were impeccable! The skiing was great, helped by a big dumping of snow the day before. Everything and I mean everything was seamless. This was my first stay on mountain at a ski resort in the USA and thing that I loved the most was the tranquility. There was no loud music at the lift lines, in fact there were no lift lines! It was peacful and chilled. The smooth Jazz tunes were welcomed at dinner and whilst having a drink. Stowe Mountain Lodge is classy and refined. My only regret is not staying longer!!

We had a great vacation at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. We booked through Air B&B, which, judging by the prices other guests were quoting, was a lot cheaper than booking through the hotel. Ours also came with free valet parking. (No robe and no toiletries though). We went during the last week of January, and both the hotel and the mountain were empty. No lines or wait for anything, and we basically had the slopes to ourselves. We ate breakfast at Solstice most mornings. The menu is great because they have large breakfast and light breakfast options. One morning we ate in the cafeteria above the ski rental facility and that was quite good too. Things got busy on Friday, so I can see how people might complain about the service because I couldn't find a waiter to give us the check. The spa was amazing, and a great way to spend a full day. We tried both restaurants for dinner and were pleased. Everyone, both in the hotel and on the mountain were very nice, with the exception of the staff at the gondola. We wanted to ride the gondola down the mountain, and there's a sign that you cannot do this without the assistance of staff. There was no one to help us, but that's not any fault of the hotel. I took a group lesson, and I was one of two people, and the instructor was incredible. Highly recommended. I ended up buying skis from the demo store from a very helpful salesperson. At night, we relaxed in the pool and hot tub, and used the gym a few times. All were great! We had a studio facing the pool (and the mountain off to the right). Everything was well appointed, and the fire place was awesome. We will definitely be back!

This was our family's second visit to Stowe Mountain Lodge for the President's weekend holiday. Just like last year, the place was great and did not disappoint. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed. The meals we had at the various restaurant facilities were excellent, particularly Solstice. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately, our trip this year was cut short due to my daughter suffering an injury while skiing. Matthew Quick, the Director of Rooms, was great to deal with. Given the extenuating circumstances, he graciously agreed to refund the balance of our unused room reservations. It's obvious that they care about their guests and not just about the money. Actions speak louder than words and Stowe Mountain Lodge "talks the talk and walks the walk" as the saying goes. Thank you very much to the people at Stowe Mountain Lodge for their compassion during a trying time and for another great, albeit short President's weekend vacation.

I booked this hotel for a November Birthday getaway. Trusting trip advisor it was really a toss up between this establishment and Top Notch. I chose Stowe Mountain Lodge due to its beautiful lobby, gorgeous views and exceptional spa reviews.

I reserved a Junior Suite which included an in room fire place, kitchenette and views of the mountain. The fireplace is a GREAT TOUCH to a wintery weekend getaway and the kitchenette included wine openers and cutlery for drinking and eating leftovers. The views were pretty but the construction outside our room took away from the view.

My only issue with Stowe Mountain Lodge was the lack of follow through from the concierge. I had requested champagne on ice upon our arrival to surprise my fiance. This request was made 2 days prior to check in. When I arrived the champagne was not in our room and when I spoke to the front desk they had no record of my request. I will say they did make it better by providing us with 2 complimentary bottles, which i believe was a mistake on their end, and chocolate truffles.

Finally, I made reservation for a manicure which was far from what one would expect from luxury spa [$65 for manicure]. From what my fiancé shared with me, the appointment felt rushed and her cuticles were not removed which is manicure 101.

Overall we were very comfortable and the concierge did address our issue with the champagne. I would recommend this hotel in the future and will most likely be staying here again.

Well the good. Location, rooms and cleanliness. Pool and amenities are all nice. Superb ski valet. Now for the downers. Front desk. Checking in on Jan. 1 was the worst ever in my 47 years of travel. We were told the room was almost ready and they would call in 10 minutes. 3 hrs later no call. 1 hr in line again to find out it was ready. The girl who took care of us first should not be working check in at all....Furthermore, we were denied a table in the empty Solstice Resturant since we did not have a room # yet while we waited....Unbelievable. Even the Concierge apologized and agreed it was totally wrong. Next the food. See my Hourglass review and Solstice reviews. Basically terrible and way over priced. Furthermore I asked to speak with management three times regarding the hourglass dinner. Still to this day, more than 7 days later no freaking response !!!!! Yes I am angry.
So I suggest to all travelers planning a Stowe trip, go to the lodge only to sleep, ski and swim. Do not eat at the hotel. You can opt for breakfast at the Spruce peak base lodge. It was very good. My complements to the chef, the great big guy!!! He should be cooking in the hotel!!! Overall because of the horrible food service and quality, we ended up driving to town each night for food. It's sorta stupid when a so called 5 star hotel cannot feed its guests! However ,they can certainly take your money quickly!!! Yes Stowe mtn lodge, I am angry about this!!! Not for the fact it was a poor dinner, but rather because no one contacted me to discuss it on your side after three requests. Three requests!!!!
Lastly, if you get your front desk working correctly, and replace your Resturant management and chefs, you could then be a 4 or maybe after a few years a 5 star hotel. Location is great, so
are the rooms. Lastly the outdoor pool was cold the last night we stayed. The hotel was nearly empty so I think someone turned down the
thermostat!!!!! Call me Stowe!!!
BTW best ski school in the
USA. I put the kids in for three day. After the first half of day 1,the kids were making turns like pro's. DJ you are a true ski school legend. The best of the best!!! Thank you. Again, we love Stowe and the hotel, but the restaurants and front desk within the hotel were awful!!! And management should take responsibility for this!! You do not treat guests like you had!!! Sorry folks. Contact me Stowe...

While the overall ambience and location is first rate there are two major issues with this property specifically;

1. They were not well set up to handle the volume of visitors during a peak period. Really no excuse here since winter weekends and holidays is when most people visit. They were staffed for a much lower volume and really struggled to service their guests. It took more than 2.5 hours for our luggage to be delivered to our room (valet check in / parking is mandatory). It took 45+ min to get your car each night you go out. We experienced frustrated guests everywhere we went. Based on our experience the major crush at these kinds of places for the Friday night arrival, Sunday departure will be a very frustrating experience for everyone when they are at peak capacity during the winter ski weekends. Off of the busy season I am sure everything is fine.

2. For the price, which is quiet high in prime weeks, this is not ski in / ski out. They charge a premium resort, premium ski access price but all you really get is very close to the mtn but not direct ski access. Many, many other resorts have both in their premium real estate. Here you have to walk and take the people mover gondola to get to the main side of Stowe, but even Spruce Peak requires a walk and all of the new construction puts even more real estate now between Stowe Mtn Lodge and Spruce Peak skiing. If you are looking for the drop you skis at the door and ski away, this isn't the place for you.

My husband and I picked The Mountain Lodge at Stowe for the 2nd week of our Honeymoon and so glad that we picked this Slopeside Resort. Our package included a week in their Timberline Studio, daily breakfast and 4/5 days of skiing. We loved our room with it's very comfortable King bed, dressed in luxury linens; the fireplace with sitting area, a very efficient kitchenette with everything you need and a beautifully appointed bathroom. The breakfasts were served in a dining room looking at the mountain and served elegantly...delicious entrees to choose from and organic coffee! The ski valet service took care of storing ski's and boots and within a 5 minute call, ready to put on and head to the gondola at the lodge that takes you directly to Stowe's Gondola and highest peak! The service throughout the resort is unsurpassed...with friendliness and efficiency. Our 4 days of skiing on beautifully groomed trails was amazing and if it wasn't for aching bones we would of stayed out until the lifts closed! Our room overlooked their heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi's, which we indulged in after skiing.
This was a vacation I truly did not want to leave. It certainly was memorable for us !

I traveled for a business training/convention for three days. The lodge was beautiful with gorgeous mountain views. Depending upon your budget, it can be pricey. It is a ski lodge with lifts on site. The views of the fall foliage were breathtakingly incredible. Excellent food. Many suites have fireplaces.

My wife and I spent two nights in a fireplace studio and had a great weekend. We were there a few weeks before the mountain officially opened for the season so the rates were reasonable and the crowd was relatively light. The room was great for our needs, and we took full advantage of the hot tub (on a snowy evening) and the spa.

The hotel was kind enough to place in us a room away from the construction so there were no issues with the noise. The mandatory valet was not much of an issue either - just a few extra minutes to wait for the car if we didn't call down ahead of time. Over the weekend we partook in breakfast buffet and a drink at the bar - both are overpriced but still enjoyable.

Only downside was having to spend an hour outside in the cold at 6AM one morning due to the fire alarms going off, but it's difficult to place any blame on the hotel for that one. Highly recommend, especially if you can get a good rate!

Cats are not allowed. They don’t allow you to leave your dog in the room unattended. And dogs must be on leash. They usually have 20-30 dogs on site. So imagine cats on a leash besides 30 dogs….

If you are staying in the main group of buildings by the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs, all the shops, restaurants, ice skating, and ski lifts are right there in the center of the complex. It is a really great, well thought out, layout.

Not sure when it opens but it’s big. Plenty big for laps. Usually it’s blocked off for people swimming laps. And it’s warm enough to swim comfortably in mid-winter.
