GTX 1650 4 GB (Max-Q / Mobile) Ok for light 4k use?

PostFri Sep 06, 2019 3:44 pm

Hi,
I am still looking for a new Laptop. My W541 has just not enough power. I still dream of the Lenovo X1 Extreme gen2. I know all about thermal limitations of such a small Laptop. But Video use is not my main business...so I have to make compromises.
So my question:
Will the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q 4 GB will be Ok for light editing from a GH5 (HD timeline) - combined with a i7-9750H and 16GB of ram?

Thanks for the input.

Best.

An HD timeline should be fine. VRAM would become a problem if you need 4K output.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Studio 18.6.6, MacOS 13.6.7, 2017 iMac, 32 GB, Radeon Pro 580
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM
Sonoma 14.5 with 19b3 (sandbox)

Second that. It's even really easy to fill 6GB VRAM with UHD/DCI4K timelines, even with the lightest denoise.
