My Pony meeting our new “Pony”

New Car!

Picked up the ‘24 I5 SEL RWD for my wife a couple weeks ago, getting along nicely with my ‘21 Mach-E. If no one gets the “pony” reference for the I5, pretty cool story https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/first-official-pictures/hyundai/pony-1974-concept/

im at a point in life where i dont want to feel any pebble on the road. is the i5 a smoother ride than this mache?

Yeah, it is smoother, the Mach-E is a little bumpier, it’s tuned more sporty, it doesn’t bother me at all it can actually be pretty fun, but YMMV. The GT has Magneride which apparently smooths it out.

Full stable!

And boy are they thirsty! RIP electric bill haha, still better than gas

Meh, it depends.

A weeks worth of driving cost me about $10 in electricity.

With the EA pass, it costs $0, if you don't mind using a public charger every week.

Yeah prices here have been going up, I’m getting solar put in so won’t be an issue much longer

Except for the monthly payment to cover the installment

Hey that’s my house too! Except the fiancé drives a ‘22 Mach-e and I drive the ‘24 i5 limited RWD. I5 is a much smoother ride and imo more fun, but the quality of life features that ford put into the Mach-e make them missing from the i5 painfully obvious (except moon roof cover built into the i5 and not the ford).

Yeah there’s some things that are really annoying on the I5, like a lot of settings that just default back, the RWD SEL specifically doesn’t save the regen level when you restart the car, so this makes the WAF very high. Sync nav is so much better and searching for chargers in Sync is actually intuitive. We love both cars, but they def both have their own quirks.
