What travelers are saying
- Marty A1 contributionFamily members who grew up in the area took us to this museum. It is wonderful museum that tells the story of World War II broadly and specifically the liberation of this specific area around Knokke, Belgium through thousands of original artifacts. The dozens of original and restored uniforms on lifelike manikins make this very special. At the end there is an exhibit unearthed plane parts from around the area, some of which can be matched to the original plane and crew. We met the one of the two brothers after the tour in the cafe. He and and his brother collected most of the contents over their lifetime. He said his mother used to teasingly ask him why he did not just collect stamps. But if he had collected stamps, this museum would not exist.Written May 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We walked there form Cadzand-Bad, the walk there offered beautiful views and in the sanctuary we got further informations.

I like to play roulette and there where only 2 tables open. However, there was not a lot of people.Written January 27, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

After years of disuse and neglect through two world wars, once again the Windmill Kalf is a functioning wooden windmill. And when it's not milling, the two enthusiastic millers take visitors to explore and experience it from the inside.
We ascended the exterior steps to the cabin on the first level, and then climbed a flight of steep interior stairs to see where the grains are milled. They explained the hoisting of the wheat to the grinder, the grinding stone system for production and the way grain and flour is collected. My great discovery was learning that the entire mill can be rotated to face the wind. They explained how wooden windmills were designed to turn around a central spindle, enabling them to harness the wind regardless of wind direction. Standing inside the windmill, I could understand the ingenuity and the efficiency of these marvelous structures.Written June 26, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can reserve a guided tour or simply walk or bike around this enchanting Zwin . I recommend the walk or bike route from Knokke to Cadzand where they have stretched the way further down..Written February 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christophe PJKnokke-Heist, Belgium340 contributions25m pool, various sauna & a separate pools & slides for kids.
Not too crowded on weekdays outside the holidays. Avoid the sportspool on Saturday mornings, only 2 lanes open to public.
Friendly staff...too bad the place is not well kept as it should : many lockers broken, keys missing, and the pool floor has been broken and mended numerous times.
Cleaning is certainly lacking and there's absolutely no excuse for that.Written March 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The building may look old, but it is a recent replica of the 1872 lighthouse of Knokke, which was demolished in 1952. The friendly staff provided us with a map and an event calendar.
Why contributors would use the Tripadvisor page of the tourist office of Knokke-Heist to give their opinion on the whole town is a mystery to us.Written July 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It represents a two metres high male figure, arms folded on his chest and doubled over as if in pain. Does it symbolise the fight of mankind against the elements or its inability to face the reality of rising seas? We saw the sculpure at low tide and are looking forward to take or see pictures of it at very high tide.Written September 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
