Description

The original 1969 programme is a slim soft card-bound programme measuring 11cm x 26.5cm. The bind is stapled and it has 60 numbered pages. The cover design, by Harry Wallace, is repeated across many editions of the festival during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The pdf version includes profiles and images of festival jury members Morrie Roizam (USA) (Chairman), Ana Maria Narti (Romania), Mathes Rehder (Germany), Jean Leon (France), and Robert Monks (Ireland). Programme listings include the Ardmore-Krasne production I Can’t I Can’t (Piers Haggard, 1970) starring Denis Waterman and Maire O’Donnell; Linear Programming (Halas & Batchelor, 1969). A Halas and Batchelor cartoon film exhibition is advertised and ran throughout the festival period in 1969. Articles include A Tribute to Hal B. Wallis (pp.52-55) and A Retrospective Programme in Honour of the March of Time (p.55). There is a short article about the St Finnbarr Statuette Award (Naomh Fionnbarra) designed by Seamus Murphy on page 5. The brochure also includes a number of advertisements from local and national companies across all sectors of the business world.
