Originating from Ahmedabad, Saurav Chauhan emerges as a left-handed batsman making significant strides in Indian cricket. His passion for the sport ignited at a young age, witnessing his father's dedication as a groundsman in Ahmedabad. Starting his journey in age-group cricket for Gujarat, Chauhan swiftly showcased his batting prowess. His debut in T20 cricket during the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season saw him shine, crafting an impressive fifty. This was followed by his List A debut later that year. February 2022 marked his entry into first-class cricket for Gujarat against Kerala, despite facing challenges in consistency, his talent remained undeniable across formats, earning him the trust of Gujarat's domestic setup.

The year 2023 proved to be a breakthrough for the left-hander as he made headlines by smashing the record for the fastest fifty in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. However, his feat was short-lived as Ashutosh Sharma surpassed it the next day, scoring fifty off just 12 balls against the same opponent, Arunachal Pradesh. Renowned for his prowess in the top order for Gujarat, Chauhan is known for his clean striking ability, effortlessly dispatching the ball over the ropes.

With his stellar performances catching the eye of the Bengaluru franchise, they secured his services for the 2024 Indian T20 League season.
