College readiness and preparation is amazing, as well as the resources and help available to all students. Diversity is the sorest spot, the faculty do not reflect the student body's diversity.
I really enjoy my time at lakeside. Everyone in the classrooms are very engaged with their work, and everyone is there to learn as well. All of my classmates are hard working, and because everyone values academics, group projects go well. Additionally, because the grade levels are very small, I know everyone in my grade and I have found many great friends.
I have greatly enjoyed my time at Lakeside. It has been a wonderful experience connecting with like-minded peers, exploring new academic opportunities, and playing sports competitively. The work can get hard at times; however, everyone is very collaborative and the teachers are always willing to help you out! The college counseling staff and resources are also very helpful and personal.
Lakeside has a robust educational program that serves to teach students what they need for their adult lives. The school is dedicated to improving students in any way they can.
I love being at Lakeside! The teachers are amazing, and it really feels like a family. Definen recommend to others.
I am writing this as a current middle school student at Lakeside. Despite being a nice school, I believe that Lakeside is not right for everyone.
Based on my own experience, I've found that Lakeside is rather undermining towards quiet people like me. Both students and teachers in the social environment don't embrace less participative methods of learning. You other students have written that people here are "corrupt", but I can't say it's fair to blame it on the students that are still learning. However, it is accurate to say that adults should be more mature and be able to deal with things more adequately and appropriately, especially in the field of education.
I also can't say the academics are what were promised. Though definitely good enough, they're just not the rich, exclusive resources that were mentioned when I applied. Having done an accelerated program for 4 years in elementary school, it was disappointing that I had already learnt everything that was being taught.
Thx bye

The best part of Lakeside is the culture. Grades are tight-knit and friendly--I would say hi to almost anyone passing them in the hallways. Teachers are open to feedback and always available to give you the resources you need. School wide events are fun and full of school spirit. The notable drawback I've found is the competitive and cut throat environment that is created during college app season or around big tests or projects.
Most of the rumors and stereotypes you hear about this school and its students are true -- one reviewer mentioned the school's reputation as a pressure cooker and I could not agree more. Homework load is roughly a couple hours a day depending on your classes. As expected, the academic rigor is far greater than the average public school, however things are not perfect. Administration is thoughtful and seems to provide teachers with adequate support, but you'll begin to notice that student sentiment is sometimes disregarded, no matter how popular the idea is. Students are incredibly competitive as expected, and the school takes any sort of cheating incredibly seriously. Teachers can be quite accomodating, but it varies. You'll notice that friend groups are primarily based around race, with a few exceptions. In short -- almost the dream school for academics, and pretty average in the social scene.
We are very happy with the school. The curriculum is very rigorous and engaging. Students go to good colleges after high school.
The good: teachers are excellent and kids are kind and talented.
The bad: Lakeside keeps falling in private school rankings while competitor schools ascend. Likely due to their archaic bent on prioritizing admissions for the very rich and the connected.

Terrible. If I could rate it a 0 star I would. If you care about your child do not send them here. They do not practice what they preach. On the outside this school seems like an amazing, diverse, and inclusive school. However, after attending this school for multiple years, I can confirm that none of that is true. I was really hoping that this place would be an amazing experience, unfortunately, the staff has ruined this. There are a handful of teachers who are amazing, but most of them are just average, and at a school so expensive you would hope they would all be amazing teachers. The punishment for a mistake will vary on the students race. Do not recommend, spend your money elsewhere.
An institution which truly strives to be the best in every area. I had a great experience with both the academic environment and the school culture. Competitive sports, clubs, music, and everything else!
Lakeside School is amazing in many different ways- from academics to opportunities at exploring one’s interests and passions to the many life-long friendships that are developed, it is definitely unparalleled compared to many other schools in the PNW. It may not be for everyone as it takes a certain character and personality to thrive - one has to be resilient and maintain an open mind to truly enjoy and embrace all that Lakeside has to offer. I recommend it highly without any reservations at all!
Lakeside has some great resources, as a private school it's expected to have that. There are college counselors that spend time with you and focus on helping you. Lakeside's classes are rigorous, but there are other schools in the Great Seattle Area equally as rigorous. For example, Interlake High School's gifted/IB program is equally as rigorous.
I absolutely loved my experience at Lakeside School, which has unparalleled opportunities, many incredible teachers, and a really great school community with fun, kind, and motivated students. Still, Lakeside did make me a more stressed person because the workload is quite high. It's also quite a bubble, ideologically and socioeconomically, even though it may not seem like it at first. Still, I loved Lakeside, but it has its downsides.
The education was amazing, and the teachers really care about each student's individual progress. There are so many opportunities to explore what you're interested in! Our electives are in-depth and curiosity-nourishing, and are taught by very qualified teachers who are clearly passionate about what they do. There are a million clubs (and ways to create your own club), plenty of sports, and an overall abundance of ways to make lifelong friends. Independent and self-driven students can really thrive here. The only thing I was not a fan of was the college counseling experience around financial aid specifically. I had to figure out how to manage the FAFSA and CSS profiles on my own, and I wish I had had more help picking out affordable schools.
I loved Lakeside so much. As a private university, you have access to so many resources that aren't available at many schools. I've learned and grown so much from my experiences at this school.
My one criticism is that it is a elitist institution. As a school that prides itself in service and activism, it has a large endowment that could be used for other sources.
