Victor Salazar is the main character of Hulu television series Love, Victor. He is portrayed by Michael Cimino.

Biography[]

Half-Puerto Rican, half-Colombian-American, originally from Texas, Victor and his family moved to Shady Creek, Georgia. His mother had an affair with his father's boss, resulting in Victor's father losing his job due to hitting his boss. In his old home town in Texas, being different wasn't as accepted as it is in Shady Creek.

He lives in Creekwood and attended Creekwood High School, plays for the basketball team, Grizzlies, and works at Brasstown Coffee Company as a barista. After various situations that he faced upon arriving at Creekwood, such as meeting Benji, and his trip to New York to meet Simon Spier, and the kiss he had with Benji in the dance, it lead him to tell his parents that he is gay.[1]

Personality[]

Victor is currently trying to figure himself out, which involves changing things he would normally do. Victor is usually described as nice, kind, and funny. Throughout the first season, he is constantly confused and has a lot of questions so he reaches out to Simon Spier for help, who is a college student in New York City. If something requires him to do what anybody else would do, but it goes against what he believes in or knows is right, then he will choose his own path. An example of this was when instead of telling his friends to not act, "that [gay] way" at his birthday party because his father and grandfather told him to, he turned around and told them no. Victor also describes himself as the family problem fixer.

Victor is also spontaneous, such as, when he bought a bus ticket to visit Simon in New York City for the weekend, telling his parents that he is on a basketball team trip to Georgia State. He even printed out a fake permission slip for his parents to sign.
