Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- rangak83United Kingdom7 contributionsTook kids during half term holidays. Could say they enjoyed played a different variety of video games and doing some craft work designing video game screens. Grownups enjoyed playing some retro games. Not a big place, but can easily spend a good few hours. Would be good if there are contents about history of video gamesmanship etc.
As a charity, they are doing a good job.Written 28 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Erin Sue GilesLondon, UK9 contributionsWe had so much fun on a date at BattleAxe - it was way better than we expected with tutorials for axe throwing and a hosted competition alongside the chance to throw various other things which was a huge bonus. Chris was super fun and supportive of us the whole time. Great value for money.Written 26 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cathy H13 contributionsWe had a fantastic time and would highly recommend. We had a group beginners session for 5 kids aged 9-11 with Jez who was fantastic with the children, supportive and encouraging. The kids loved it, after our climbing session Jez showed us around the bouldering area and let the kids have a go.Written 5 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - worldcitizen196 contributionsThey have two rinks, one mainly for skating and the other for ice hockey; the rinks, seating toilet facilities are nice. The food offer is ridiculous: not open for breakfast, poor quality and selection for overpriced lunch menu. Compared to the majority of the rinks available in south and central UK it is very good facility though.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - makingmapsLondon1 contributionWe held our daughter’s 5th birthday at Playmania and it was excellent. Really well organised, very helpful staff and no stress. It was the easiest party we’ve ever held 😊Written 8 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- djcall2016Sheffield, UK3 contributionsVisited with two young grandchildren Sunday, had a 1 hour session.
Only had waves once right at the end of our hour and I must say we were very disappointed, they weren't very ' wavy ' at all! The rapids were rubbish, not rapid ,you could almost stand still in them.
We have visited quite a few times before, a while ago the slides were removed and now less of what's left. Not good at all for a city leisure pool. Rubbish.Written 3 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - michalM8040TLKingston-upon-Hull, UK1 contributionWell organised however as you're on track with around 20 people your likely hood of sharing the track with individuals that should consider other forms of entertainment is fairly highWritten 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DandA9Leeds, UK47 contributionsVisited in November with my 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter. She enjoyed the bigger play area rather than the one more suitable for her age group and I was a bit concerned that the slide was too high for her but she was “mothered” by some older girls who watched out for her.
I always get annoyed at both staff and parents when they allow older children in areas they shouldn’t be and was particularly disappointed to see a family of 4 children probably 4 - 8 year olds jumping into the baby area with no staff or parents telling them to stop- very annoying.
Food/drinks are ok if a little expensive and overall the place was quite clean.Written 4 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not only entertaining for us as parents but the kids loved it as well (15, 13 & 11). We tried the Discovery of Dragons room. Spent most of the time laughing at myself, the answers are there but I had brain fuzz, so it was really good that the staff do guide you a little when you are stuck, which for me was a god send. It was nice to see it that is wasn't all revolved around technology that there was actually physical puzzles for you to work out which the kids loved getting involved as its something different from Ipads etc. The decoration and the theme was fantastic, was really good to look at. We didn't win though unfortunately, but it was so good of the staff to show the egg to the kids afterwards. We loved it.
The staff were nice and extremely helpful and also there is parking right in front of the building which I liked, made it easy to get there.

From start to finish the event was smooth and seamless and very enjoyable. Damien was a top host and very patient as our group completed two events (Archery and rifle shooting). Highly recommended and very reasonably priced.Written 9 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
