Accordion music, vibrant outfits and garlic snails set the tone for St Michael's Prep School's annual French Day.

Dressed in bleu, blanc et rouge, children and staff across the school celebrated all things français with a day of language learning.

A range of activities were on offer to the children such as special assemblies, visiting a French photo booth, playing games and attending an accordion concert performed by St Michael's musicians.

Coinciding with St George's Day, St Michael's French Day was also a chance to celebrate French and English relations with various activities and competitions. St Michael's looks forward to continuing this theme with their stall at this year's Otford Village Fete on Monday, May 27.

A delicious French cuisine was also prepared by the school's talented Catering Team as ham and cheese baguettes together with boeuf bourguignon, saucisson, garlic snails and profiteroles were enjoyed by all.

Commenting on the success of the day, Head of Languages at St Michael's Prep, Juliette Poracchia, said: "French Day was a chance to fire up our pupils’ passion for language learning and their curiosity about all things French and the Entente Cordiale.

"A l’année prochaine."

(Which means 'Let’s do it again next year!' in case you were wondering!)
