I have to say the wait is pretty long to order your food. Â Seems like the front of the house is disorganized. Â I ordered the double ShackBurger, fries and beer. Â The cashier took four times to try to pour me my beer - never seen that before. Â But now - the food. Â I loved the ShackBurger. Â It was cooked perfect and the Shack sauce was very tasty. Â The fries were crispy and tasted great. Â Will definitely be coming back here.

Pretty good food for the most part.
Atmosphere: Modern/trendy. There's a good number of seats in the back of the restaurant at this location. You order in the front and wait to get your food.
Food: I was in the mood for a hot dog so I got the Chicago style one (I think it's called Shack-Cago Dog...hardy har har shoooo clever). The hot dog was tasty but rather small for the price. The fries on the other hand were delicious and crispy. My friend ordered the Shackburger and she loved it though, so maybe I should've gone with a burger. I also didn't get the chance to try their shakes - shame on meeeee. - 11734122612/24/2011
This is not fast food. Â This is food made to order in a fastfood like environment.
Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. Â Get the fries, they're absolutely delish.
The shakes are great, try the Fair shake, or black and white. Â Yummy, and a great compliment to the burgers.
I'd eat here all the time if I lived in DC. - 2976417625/24/2012
I am from Southern California and grew up with In-n-Out as my go-to burger joint. During a recent business trip, I cheated on In-n-out and had a fling with the Shake Shack. It was such an awesome fling that I went back for a second round the following night. Weeks later, I still fantasize about that fleeting moment. Sorry, In-n-Out but I can no longer call you my #1. My heart now belongs to Shake Shack. Too bad I live in So Cal.

3 of us stumbled into here while in the area, as a recommendation from a friend who loved Shake Shack from when they were only in NYC. I had put it off long enough in attempts to avoid a high calorie meal, but it was my birthday and I felt the need to indulge. With that being said...
I ordered the "Shack Stack" which is a double burger. One regular cheeseburger patty and one of their vegetarian burger which is essentially a portobello mushroom stuffed with muenster and cheddar cheese then crisp deep fried. I shared an order of the regular french fries as well as cheese fries with my party of 3. Although, I really wanted to try their frozen custard, I knew I had ordered too much. So another day perhaps. I had their lemonade for a drink.
I thought the burger was very juicy and tender. The shroom burger was good, but not a burger. It was pretty much a fried cheese patty. The beef burger itself was really good, but super salty. If they cut down the salt, it would be even better. I couldn't handle the amount of salt. I'm not sure if this was in error, or if they're always like this. If they purposely make them this salty, I won't be returning. I felt dehydrated and full of sodium for so long. A very unpleasant feeling.
The fries were nice and crispy - but pretty standard. My partner loved the cheese fries but I wasn't a fan. I didn't like that it made the fries soggy, and I thought the cheese sauce was way too buttery. I didn't really taste cheese, just butter and cream.
The lemonade was actually good and not too sweet. Perfect.
Both of the individuals I came with ordered the chocolate shake and were in love.
I would consider coming here again, but maybe just stick to a single beef patty. If it's still as salty, I won't be returning. The salt was plain overbearing and awful.
I'd also like to try one of their frozen custards next time.
I'll update next time! - 1549602501/12/2013
Completely over rated...The burgers are small and really not that great. I also hated how the bun was a complete soggy mess mid-way through the burger. The crinkle fries are also over rated - soggy.
The custard isn't bad, if you're a fan of frozen custard. - 475519102/27/2013
Best burger in town!
First visited the original Shake Shack in NYC last year and fell in love! Their burgers are fresh and the fries are crisp. Whenever I'm in the city, I make it a point to stop here. - 1471228162210/27/2014
I don't know why the propaganda! Just a regular burger joint! Tasty but very small & pricey!

I am so disappointed in what I saw and experienced today that I feel compelled to write a review. I live half a block from Shake Shake and until six months ago, I was a frequent diner. I decided to give it another try today a few minutes after 3 pm. No one was in line; two registers were open, but only one staff person appeared interested in working. My order was simple - a Shack burger to go. I sat down to wait.
While waiting, I watched one woman go up to get her desert item. They handed her a single and she said she ordered a double. For some reason, the two people handing out the one order couldn't read the receipt to confirm and she didn't have hers. It turned out the "uninterested" staff person at the register I didn't use had taken the order.
Then my buzzer went off, apparently at the same time as someone with an enormous order. He and I were standing there and I watched one of competent staff person put the order on two trays. It was 6 chicken shacks, 5 or 6 fries and 6 drinks. They had the process set up so that one person was building the order and one (very slow) useless guy was distracting her while waiting to be handed the trays or bags so he could call out names. I understand from overhearing staff conversation that he is new, but I would fire him now for not listening -- having witnessed a customer ask him for a lemonade refill and his having to ask her for clarification twice when she was extremely clear the first time.
So, I'm still waiting for my one burger and the guy next to me is still waiting for his large order. I'm wondering why my buzzer went off 5-6 minutes before my order was ready. They bring over his food and he tells them he ordered 6 Shack burgers, not chicken. There is much discussion back and forth AND NO ONE ELSE'S FOOD IS COMING OUT!!! Turns out, it was the SAME disinterested woman at the cash register who screwed up his order and caused 6 chicken sandwiches to be trashed (and probably the fries too because by the time the burgers are ready, those fries will be cold). Not only is that young woman making it clear with her body language and facial expression that she doesn't want to be working, she's wasting food and making life harder for her colleagues by not listening to customers. She should also be fired, in my opinion.
When I finally got my burger, I dashed home. Normally, in the cold of winter, my burger is still too hot to eat by the time I get home. Today, my burger was barely lukewarm and had clearly been sitting out, perhaps even before I ordered it. I have always found many of the employees at this Shake Shack to be unprofessional and incompetent. Today, it struck me as so much worse and is probably impacting the sales of this store more than people realize. I won't be going back anytime soon and will be certain to share my comments with others.Business owner information

I had the worst possible experience at this location. I will NEVER go back to it, or any other Shake Shack location for that matter. I ordered through the app and arrived at the store about 10 minutes later. I asked one of the clerks if my order was ready and was told not yet. I continued to wait, and wait, and wait, while many people who ordered in the store while I was waiting got their orders. I eventually asked for a manager to find out what happened to my order. Turned out the idiot clerk was wrong. My order had been completed while I was on route to the store and placed on a shelf when my name was called and no one answered. The manager apologized and handed me my order. Really, you're just going to give me cold food? I asked for a new order, which took forever to get, and when I was handed the new order, the shakes were missing, so I had to wait some more for the shakes to be made. The manager said he would refund my order, but he lied. I had to follow up with him a few days later to inquire about the refund, which I eventually got. Lastly, the food didn't live up to all the hype. Specifically the shakes were just average, really not much better than McDonald's shakes. If shake is in your name, they better be damn good. Overall, a terrible experience. Mediocre overpriced fast food, incompetent employees, and poor management.
