Mateusz Klich posts brilliant message to Leeds United fans as Ipswich take on Coventry City

Mateusz Klich has shared a fantastic message with the fans of Leeds United on X this afternoon, ahead of the match between Ipswich Town and Coventry City on Tuesday night.

Leeds’ hopes of automatic promotion have diminished after their 4-0 loss to QPR last week. Although they currently hold second place, Ipswich is poised to overtake them at some point.

This could happen tonight, as Kieran McKenna’s team has a game in hand over Leeds. They will face Coventry, a team that reached The FA Cup semi-finals, which is why the Tuesday night clash was rescheduled.

With Leeds and Ipswich tied on points, anything other than a defeat for Leeds would see Ipswich move ahead. If they manage to secure a point, the race for second place will extend to the final day of the season, when Leeds will host Southampton.

If Ipswich wins, it will almost certainly secure their promotion, as they only need a draw against Huddersfield to survive the drop, provided they have a 15-goal swing in their favor.

For Leeds fans, tonight’s outcome can only be a Coventry victory. That is why Leeds icon Klich took to Twitter and posted a brilliant message of five words to the supporters before the game.

Klich has shown his loyalty to Leeds with this brilliant post about Coventry.

The midfielder left Elland Road in January 2023, after being rarely used by Jesse Marsch during the first half of the 22-23 season. Since then, Klich has made it clear that he is not fond of the American manager.

Across the pond, Klich has been performing excellently for DC United, alongside Christian Benteke and other well-known players. However, his love for Leeds United remains, as demonstrated by his latest post on X.

The Polish star uploaded a tweet with four words: “All Coventry Aren’t We? #MOT,” which is a clever reference to the famous Leeds song. Both Klich and the Whites hope that Mark Robins’ side can do Leeds a favor.

Do Leeds still have a chance of securing second place?

At this stage, it does seem unlikely. Even if Ipswich fails to win tonight, a draw would not be enough for Leeds to secure second place.
