A shoddy product for over 100 quid.
4 Stars
A shoddy product for over 100 quid.
The music is wonderful and the outtakes and demos give a wonderful insight into the music. That said most of the tracks have been around on bootlegs for many years. It is a really great album but the packaging does not do it justice. For £100 plus it is a very poor product compared with the anniversary editions of Imagine and Plastic Ono Band. They both had more generous packaging and far more detailed books. The Harrison team could have done a much better job particularly when team Lennon have set a much higher quality hurdle.

A fab album from the quiet one. I've always liked this album and now it's even better with the demos and outakes.

Unlike a lot of reviewers,I’m not a sound engineer, but I have been born with an intuition to recognise what I like, and I love this remix.George’s vocals have been brought upfront ,the wall of sound effect has been toned down.I have all four editions of this album and there seems to have been an evolution to get to where it’s at now.But your not only buying the album here the demo’s and outtakes which Dhani Harrison has selected are worth the price on their own.The version of Hear me Lord is breathtaking. But in the end this is just another opinion an view,my advise is listen to it yourself,if you don’t like it you can return it.
From my point of view I’d like to extend my thanks to Dhani Harrison and Pau lHicks for
what is undoubtably a labour of love.

Overjoyed to hear the un-spectored versions of one of the best albums of all time. We've waited years to hear these brilliant songs as George first wrote and performed them, before Spector got his hands on them. He should have produced this album in the same way as he did the Plastic Ono Band album....less is more - he swamped the beauty and the depth of these songs with needless and endless overdubbing, burying the the melodies and the warmth of George's vocals. George was clearly enjoying himself - which now comes across whereas before the overwhelming mood was sombre - I wish George had been able to oversee this compilation himself..........

In the league with the greatest albums of all time, All Things Must Pass, as an exhibition of all the bottled up musical energy George had suppressed whilst a member of the beatles. This 2021 50th Anniversary reissue with it's remastering to minimise the Spector Wall of Sound production, opens up the instrumentation and vocals revealing greater emotions and clarity of Georges genius.
A no-brainer must have album. A landmark of its time, yet relevant for now and many generations to come.

One of my favourite albums expanded , remastered and reissued, the songs are amazing, great remastering rich melodies and sounds , the bonus tracks with out the Phil Spector production are different and nice to hear how the songs evolved and grew , the packaging is nice with a good book , if you are very affluent try the Uber version it’s a extra special super deluxe in a wooden case but at around £800 out of reach of most fans , isn’t it a pity ?

This is a wonderful package. I bought the super deluxe version with 6 cds, a book and poster. The original album has been completely disassembled and remixed so that George's voice is more prominent and the mix is less fuzzy and over produced. It is a clean and clear version and no less powerful and impressive. Wah Wah is my personal favourite and is superb. I loved the whole album. Dhani Harrison has selected some great outtakes for us to enjoy, giving us a real sense of how this album developed and was completed. Unmissable!

George Harrisons masterpiece . It stands up to any of Paul and John's solo output and deserves to hit No 1 again . Stripped of the reverb by very astute Paul Hicks , the songs reveal their true class . Lots of extras which you'll love if your a fan .

This blu-ray album is so much cleaner than the muddy one that Phil Spector originally produced, This Super deluxe version is expensive but if you are into finding high resolution versions of great albums, to me it was well worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Una presentación pequeña pero elegante, excelente sonido.
