The anticipated film Deadpool & Wolverine is still months ahead of its release, but it's already broken a record that surpasses all previous MCU films combined. While an impressive feat, it does make sense, given that Deadpool & Wolverine will be the MCU's first R-rated film.

In the recent trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, there are several swear words uttered. While they are bleeped, there are enough included to secure the record for the most F-bombs (and most swear words, period) for any movie set in the MCU. There are no less than six F-bombs dropped, and they're not even the only vulgar words. That's more than the combined count of every previous MCU movie, even when considering inaudible and cut-off F-bombs.

Who Is Cassandra Nova In Deadpool & Wolverine?

The new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer confirms the identity of Emma Corrin's new villain. Who is Cassandra Nova and what does she mean for the MCU?

Notably, the first F-bomb was not actually heard in an MCU movie until 2023's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Star Chris Pratt and director James Gunn have also spoken about how the line was improvised and was not even guaranteed to make the final cut. That blew open the doors for Deadpool & Wolverine to go all the way with its vulgarity, and the trailer is likely just a small tease of the R-rated nature that's in store for fans with the full film.

Previously, the F-word was nearly uttered in the Spider-Man films, but it would be cut off before the word was actually spoken. There's also a scene from Iron Man 2 where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is told by a senator (Garry Shandling), "F*ck you, Mr. Stark, f*ck you, buddy," though it's bleeped as it's on television. Even when counting these instances together, it still wouldn't be more F-bombs than were dropped in the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer.
