This is a budget option in the Wan Chai/Causeway Bay area. Keung Kee is a long-established place that offers simple, unpretentious Cantonese comfort food at very modest price. The lunch menu is extensive with barbecue, steamed and fried dishes. Fried fish with eggplant and rice...is flavorful. The fish is hearty and thickly cut. Service is fine.More

This place became one of my all time favorite!! I was looking for good traditional roasted meat and this place was near our hotel. Oh my god I was so happy with this place, they know how to roast meat. So tasty, so juicy, so...good! They have won awards for their roasted meat, so if you are in HK you should definitely go there!!More

…as I was there early but I would say that I liked rather than loved this place and that there are better similar local cafes nearby. My satay bun and club sandwich were both tasty but the bread wasn’t great for either, too sweet and...too dry respectively. Maybe the However, as with any cha chaan teng, outrageously good value, swift service and always an experience. Looking forward to trying their lunch menu though, much more varied and the meats look delicious.More

This restaurant looks ordinary from outside but it undoubtedly would give you pleasant surprise! You must try the soup here. The price is very affordable but of a very high quality. All food items are prepared with great attention and taste very nice. The staff...are very friendly and helpful. They somehow carry a good sense of humour. They offer you good reasons to visit again in which I am happy to do so!More

This roasted (BBQ) meats restaurant is listed on the Michelin guide to Wan Chai eateries. It says that the food is capably prepared and it is incredibly inexpensive HK$20-60, a la carte. Well, the truth it is! I had the roast pork with a bowl...of noodles soup. The pork was roasted perfectly, and the soup was delicious. My dinner plus a cup of green tea cost HK$68...A BARGAIN!!More

Great local food and roasted items like BBQ Pork. Even better are the local prices, filling and quick.

Went in without checking out any reviews - ordered spicy tofu and beef with vegetables - both delicious. Made a bad call with a side of vegetables in a very strong brown sauce , probably very good just not to our taste. With a bottle...of beer / tea and rice came to just under £20More

Meat was cold, mostly fat and gristle. Def not worth the visit. Better off at mcdonalds! Free wifi a bonus once you work out the password is the name. Went quite late at night, there were plenty of tables free. All in all not up...to expectation having read other reviews. 1*More

Wandering around the Wan Chai suburb, the stomach was rumbling so decided to have roast meat. Saw this restaurant and decide what the heck, one roast meat restaurant is as good as another. This was a pleasant surprise. The barbecued pork was nicely cooked, thinly...sliced and dripping with sauce. Rice was fluffy and fragrant. The Boss want roasted goose and she got roasted goose. It was lean, minimal fat, cut correctly and yummy to boot. The mini boss was delighted with what he was given. After having finished dinner, paid the bill and standing outside wondering which shop to conquer next did we only notice that it was recommended for a Michelin review. Prices were fair, service was prompt. This place deserves multiple visits and we are definitely heading back there again prior to flying off.More

The overall rating of 4 stars isn’t accurate. The food was ‘ok’. I had the trio of meats (Roast Goose, Roast Pork and BBQ Pork). The BBQ Pork wasn’t great and I don’t recommend it. The other two were pretty good. I won’t go back.

Food acceptable as a cha chaan tang but service was bad. Staff was impersonal and impatient. Food was not served on time. Half the orders was not served despite reminders and we are not the only table affected. Customers arriving later was served first. Will...not visit this place again if I have to.More

In keung kee, I normally order bbq pork (char siu) with 2 fried eggs, I have also tried their rice in soup with fish fillet and vegetables, the soup was nice too. My colleagues like trying the local dishes such as stewed eggplant and fish...belly with rice or duck leg in soup with rice. They both look appetizing and yummy too.More

Have been visiting Keung Kee for almost a decade and always have an enjoyable meal, no matter what time of day. On the first of my two visits on my recent trip I finally got to sample the roast pork, which seems to sell out...by early evening. Served on rice, it was perfectly cooked with crispy crackling and just the right seasoning. Washed down with a large Tsingtao, it was as cheap and cheerful as you can get. On my second visit I had the bbq pork topped with fried eggs, talk about comfort food. The pork was tender and sweet, and the runny egg yolks through the rice made a perfect accompaniment. The local style milk tea really hit the spot on an unusually chilly evening. If you feel like dessert, the egg waffles at the stall next door are a good option.More
