Jerry Durant has been active in the Weatherford community throughout his career, including involvement in the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, Parker County Sheriff's Posse, Library Board, Weatherford City Government, and the Parker County Livestock Improvement Association to name a few. As a result of his involvement in the community and his contributions to his industry, he has earned numerous awards-some from industry sources and others from the communities he has supported. Awards include: Here are some of the awards:

Weatherford College Carlos Hartnett Humanitarian Award- In 2001, Jerry was presented the Carlos Hartnett Award. The award is given to individuals who encourage others to give from their abundance to benefit the college and its students. It is the most prestigious honor given by the Weatherford College Foundation.

Jack Smith Award - In 2003, Jerry received the prestigious Jack Smith Award, given to only 50 dealers in the country for sales, service, and customer satisfaction.

University of North Texas Distinguished Alumnus- In 2004, Jerry was presented the University of North Texas Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award at the annual Alumni Awards Dinner on April 12. It is the university's most prestigious award for alumni, given to individuals who have achieved distinction in their professions and made significant contributions to society.

East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year (2011)

The Heroes of Children Award- In 2012, Jerry was selected to receive a Texas State Board of

Education Heroes of Children Award. Each year, the Board of 15 members recognizes one Hero

from each of their districts. The award recipients are honored in a ceremony held at the September meeting of the State Board of Education.

Granbury Independent School District Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame- In October 2013, Jerry was inducted, as a community member, into the Granbury ISD Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

Northwood University Award- On January 26, 2014, Northwood University honored ten automobile dealers from across the United States and the Netherlands with its annual Dealer

Education Awards. The dealers were recognized for their individual contributions and efforts to improve education at all levels.

James H. Doss Award- In recognition of his major contributions to Weatherford, Jerry also earned the prestigious James H. Doss Award. It is given to local business leaders who have

demonstrated principled business practices and participated in philanthropic activities, showing

exceptional dedication to the community.

Texas Historic Business Treasure Award (2022)- Jerry and Vickie Durant of Jerry's Chevrolet received this award from the Texas Historical Commission.
