Amazing experience and views from Victoria Peak. The tram goes up and down the track, in between the buildings which is quite spectacular in itself, but the views are awesome leading up to reaching the top. If you pay a little extra, you can also access the Sky Terrace which is an observation platform from the top of the tower which overlooks Hong Kong. Price inclusive of the Tram and Sky Terrace was around £17 per adult, return ticket. Would recommend, probably the highlight of the trip, and you’ll capture some spectacular photos. Will go again next time we visit Hong Kong. They have a quirky candy shop at the peak that sells some rather cute stuff too, including mini Tik Tacs which was a novelty when given as a gift to fellow workmates and friends.

The trams are so fun to ride on.
They have an extensive network on the HK island and you can gat around economically and see some great sights.
Would recommend you buy at Octopus Card (travel card) it costs HK$200 and includes HK$150 credit.
This can be used on ferries/trams/buses and trains. Plus can be used at most stores in HK to purchase food and other items.

Interesting destination for both the young and elderly. Visited with my 80+ friend and my 9 year and 14 year old grandchildren. There wasn’t long queues for any of the rides or other amusements and there were rides suitable for all age groups to go on together. As well as the amusements there was an aquarium and a small zoo. We also enjoyed the great view from the included chairlift ride.

Was a lovely hike with some really amazing views. 3h and finishing at Big Wave Beach which is well equipped for a nice swim: Changing rooms and showers all there. Toilets available at start, middle and finish of walk. At Big Wave beach take the bus to Shek O. Is 1 stop and terminus. Either get out for a walk in Shek O or hop on again to go back to MTR

This is a funicular that connects Central Hong Kong to Victoria Peak. It is very popular every day and time. Even if you buy the ticket online you will have to wait in line to go up. Just avoid the line to buy the ticket You can buy just the tram ticket (9 euros) or the tram plus access to the sky terrace 360 (15 euros). When you go up you start to see the view of the city.
It is worth it? It depends on the person's desire and physical ability to climb on foot.

This place is an icon of HK sport.
Amazing venue run and maintained by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC)
The experience for horse racing lovers is unique.
Night time racing under lights in the middle of HK island - superb!
The HKJC offers buffet and drink packages from around HK$690.
That includes entry to the race course - a gift and race book a seated table with all drinks and food for around 4 hours. Premium package - nothing is left to chance.

As the moon rises high in the darkened sky, casting its eerie glow upon the bustling streets, here transforms into a hauntingly vibrant playground, beckoning all brave souls to join in the wicked festivities.

Take an afternoon out to enjoy this “time capsule” of older HK - a place where many locals haven’t been, and yet which is immensely easy to reach via ferry from the main port at Central. Boats run every 30 minutes until late night. Go for the beaches, the pirate cave (!), the seaside restaurants. This feels like the UK circa 1970 and is quite delightful.

Causeway Bay, accessible by trams which pass by the main street of the area, or MTR subway, is a huge shoppers delight. Along with The Sogo Department Store. If you are not out to shop, try visiting during lunch time . The mass of humanity as workers flood out of office towers for lunch is breathtaking. Just stand back and watch or get in the middle of the crush. There are many office tower malls like Hysan or Times Square and a plethora of small mom and pop shops. You are sure to find something to buy.

Just a 50 minutes bus ride from Central, you can step into a laidback village type of life in Stanley Market.

You can explore the shops in the market and Stanley Plaza, which boasts a number of eateries. There are also a few restaurants along the seafront towards Murray House and the Pier, next to the Tin Hau temple.

There is also a small cha can teang called Si Yik, which serves toast and noodles with milk tea and is usually open till 1230 pm.

Check out the souvenir shops, as well as the 3-4 art galleries. The shops are open most days and, of course, are busier on the weekends. Do watch out for cyclists who illegally cycle along the pathways between the shops - one of them actually rode into my wife, bruising her shoulder.

Access is easy, with minibus 40 from Jardine Bazaar in Causeway Bay and bus 6 from Central, among others.

The market is still great, smaller than most of the famous H.K markets but the vibe is nice. Since we visited last a while new shopping arcade has been built which I suppose was going to happen but there are still the little cafes on the beach front which seem to be still thriving.

Stanley Murray house houses some upmarket stalls selling home made jewellery, crafts and ornaments.

The little pier gives a beautiful view out across the beach.

Even though it seems far from the city center, this beach is easily accessible as there’s lots of buses going to it. We decided to take the mtr to Ocean Park and walk by the coastal road pass Deep Water Bay before we reach Repulse Bay. It’s a very easy beautiful walk that takes around an hour or so. Repulse Bay is located quite urban and yet has that secluded beach feel. It has a maintained beach toilet for cleaning up after your swim in the beach. There’s restaurants by the beach and an arcade where you can buy water or sundries to eat by the beach. It’s family friendly too.

A place where the locals go to do their shopping and dining, almost a world away from the glitzy glamour of the One Pacific Place where I was staying during my visit to Hong Kong.

One can feel the energy of the place. People on the move, having their dinners, shopping groceries, or just simply walking home.
