I have had 3 students go through the school district and all three experienced bullying that led to one being pulled out to homeschool, one going down a self destructive road and the third barely graduating. The district failed to find the strengths in these kids to build upon. They failed to provide guidance for them to be able to traverse the difficulties they were experiencing. The district allowed my kids to withdrawal themselves from school permanently, change their names and classes without parental permission.
Many of the teachers were great but still had their hands tied by the district to be able to offer any real help or solutions. They were denied educational prep for success due to their ethnicity. The teachers that cared about their students tried to go above and beyond and those teachers are still so much appreciated years after graduation. There needs to be less money going into facility enhancement and more money going directly into the teachers paychecks.

I've been in Walla Walla High School(Wa-Hi) for all 4-Years of my High School career and have found it a pleasant place to study and try out different things. The teachers are welcoming and help students when possible and Wa-Hi provides tutors after school for students in need of help in the library if they're not available. Wa-hi also provides a variety of classes ranging from Computer Science to biology to welding, and more. Including classes that can count towards college credit making college less costly. An important part of Wa-Hi is the safe space that it has created for students allowing almost all students to find a reliable adult in Wa-Hi or find a group that they can associate with whether that's in a club or with friends.
This school got the job done but was not something memorable. The teachers were great and very helpful though, most of them truly wanted the best for you along with helping you get there.
