When Gary Busey and Stephen Baldwin are acting one on one in this movie, it’s like they think they’re in Heat.
Producers: "We made a sequel to Slap Shot!"
Audience: "Why? We don't want one and no one will see it."
Producers: "Wait! It has the Hansen Brothers for a few scenes!"
Audience: "What else?"
Producers: "...Hockey?"
I didn't even know there were sequels to this. After looking at the number of ratings for this I'm sure the majority of people didn't either. This was so uninspired. It's almost like they gave the rights to a studio with a $100 budget so they would make an easy profit with the name and cover. Please, don't watch it.
Sequel to one of the greatest sports comedies ever made is one of the worst films ever made. I have never seen such an uninspired sequel or film for that matter. I don't know where to begin with this travesty? Cast, a bunch of washed up has beens or others trying to make it in the film industry. You have Gary Busey here, The guy was relevant when he was in Point Break, but not anymore. Same with Stephen Baldwin, the guy wrecked his career with Pauly Shore's Biodome, great career move. Every character is limited down to a "comedic", goofy and supposedly "funny" character like the Hanson's and that stupid gay coach. The plot was also awful full of plot holes and stupid moments. It was also very obvious that this movie was made in the early 2000s also it really shows that it was a straight to DVD release.
I have a semi finals hockey game tomorrow and watched this… not a good decision, if I lose I’m blaming it on the movie
In 1989, Buffalo Sabres goaltender Clint Malarchuk was slashed in the neck with an opposing player’s skate, cutting his carotid artery and jugular vein. He lost nearly 2 liters of blood. The 6-inch gash required 300 stitches. He nearly died. Clint Malarchuk had a better night in 1989 than I did watching this movie.
