Fairmont Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 152 reviews
Fairmont Senior High School was one of the best high schools in West Virginia, in my opinion. It's ranked highly for its sports, winning multiple state titles in the last five years, from football to cross country. Fairmont Senior High had many math and science classes, including AP or college classes, and they had a rec center outside of school for classes they didn't have in school, like engineering, the culinary arts, and farming. For art classes, it's about average art class, band, choir, and theater, but their theater program was very limited. Diversity was pretty good for students. There was a range of Whites, Blacks, and Mexicans on campus, and there were a couple of professors who taught Spanish and French. The only major con about the school was the administration because sometimes they can be neglectful, but overall, I think that has some pretty good pros.
After 4 years at this school- one being completely online- I can say that I'm going to miss attending Fairmont Senior on graduation day.
Although this school and county have their difficulties, I'm grateful for what my school represents and the overall environment. The teachers really make the environment alive at this place. Without them and their support, it wouldn't hold half as much meaning.
The campus itself is in great condition, always clean and a great place to be. Almost everyday walking into and out of school, I notice just how nice the school and area appears. As a result, I'm motivated to see it everyday.
Of course, all places have their issues. One of the main negatives about Fairmont Senior is the counseling. Personally, I've never been asked what is in my future by the people who I thought were supposed to. It's not necessary, but I think the counselors becoming more involved in the students, especially seniors, to direct them towards what they want to do would help.

Fairmont Senior HighSchool has allowed me to pursue my classes needed for my educational future. The teachers here are mostly amazing and super helpful, they want the best for all the students and always try to help in any way they can. We also have a very diverse school which is amazing. Our campus is beautiful and helps prepare us for college on a bigger campus. The change i would like to see at fairmont senior would be more help with seniors and college information. Scholarships and grants are everywhere, but sometimes can be hard to find. Personally, as a senior currently, it is difficult knowing what all is out there and the eligibility for it. However, overall Fairmont Senior is an amazing, beautiful school that cares deeply for the students, faculty, and education.
