We celebrated our wedding in late October 2023 at Generations and at El Dorado Royale. The entire team and staff with Lomas Weddings was great!

I would definitely recommend doing an onsite visit prior to the wedding events. We made a trip about 3-4 months before our wedding, and it was really helpful. We were able to do a tasting, request mock up floral arrangements, and visit the venues prior the events and do walk throughs and edit items thereafter (prior to our wedding). This was all for an additional cost, but well worth it!

Our wedding planner Lisbeth Landa assisted us in coordinating and planning every last detail. She was patient and very helpful. She spent countless hours during the course of our year planning to make our event special (including being available by email, phone, video chat, and in person).

Our onsite coordinator Alexander (Alex) Soria was amazing! We got the opportunity to meet him when we went to do our onsite visit a few months prior to our wedding. He was very helpful in assisting us with editing and selecting florals and decor based on our taste. We cannot praise his hard work and warm heart enough! He took over upon arrival at the resort and helped us manifest all our planning into a wedding celebration beyond our dreams! It was exactly what we had envisioned, wanted, and more! He went above and beyond to help us add little details that made our events extra special. His attention to detail was impeccable! I myself am very detail oriented and am so grateful that he shared that trait with me. If you get the chance to request working with him, I would!!

He worked with our outside vendors (photographer photostudioAB, and Imperial Band) and facilitated communication with them all. He went above and beyond to work on the wedding ceremony and reception timelines directly with our band so we wouldn't have to. He also manifested a magical welcome dinner (our Mexican fiesta) and arranged everything!

I'm sure there was a ton of work done behind the scenes. He did an excellent job of managing and handling it all without us knowing any of it! He also went above and beyond to be attentive and responsive while we were there. He even went so far as to hand us our phones at the end of our wedding reception, when we had no idea we were even missing them. He also took my family heirloom that I accidentally left at our reception and made sure it got back to us safely along with missing items left by our guests.

The food at our events was also delicious! Guests were all so complimentary and we too enjoyed everything we ate at our private events! Our wedding cake was also delicious! The bakery staff was also accommodating by taking a cake topper and cake decor we had brought ourselves and made our cake prettier than we had imagined.

Jose Manuel Claudio Villanueva, the Spa Manager was also terrific! He went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with my hair and makeup for each event. He even took the extra step to assist in changing some unrelated spa plans that he didn't need to do. I really appreciated him and his staff for being so patient, kind, gentle, flexible, and eager to please. I also greatly appreciated him accommodating our guests who wanted last minute appointments for spa services and was able to arrange them exactly as guests wanted them.

We are extremely grateful! This wedding celebration was what it was because of Alex, Jose, Lisbeth and their amazing teams. We cannot thank them all enough!

The only word of wisdom I'd suggest to those planning their weddings here moving forward is to deliver your own welcome bags or have them all picked up at the same time/place. We paid to have welcome bags delivered and handed them over Thursday morning. Guests didn't receive them until they turned down Friday night. Two bags were delivered to the wrong parties and one went completely missing. We know this is of no fault of our wedding team, but perhaps some process improvement with inter-department coordination needs to be had.

I have traveled in the US but never outside and I could not be more happy with the trip. It was absolutely great. The resort was not packed at this time of year so it was perfect with booking the dinners and no waits at the bars. We spent most of our days by the main pool playing volleyball, waterpolo and drinking. The staff was all incredibly attentive. They really want you to have a good time and always say hello whenever they walk by.
The food was phenomenal, we tried almost all of the restaurants expect for the Mexican. Rooms are a little dark and may get a little humid but we stayed in the room only for sleep and getting ready, so its not like we hung around the room all day. Rosa did an amazing job with cleaning the room everyday. The best part was that there was no kids on our side of the resort so it was quiet. There is a bar in the 2900's and we loved the chairs there and the swings, it was on the Casitas side and at night it gets a little rowdy but very fun. The martini bar was great as well and if they do not know a certain martini Perfecto was able to make me a perfect one I wanted. Santiago that works at the swim up pool restaurant was amazing as well. He was attentive and made sure that our group of 6 had everything we needed at all times.
After dinners we usually made our way to the main stage where the entertainment was so fun to watch. They had different things going on every night so we were able to enjoy a variety. After the shows we would head to Jojo's where they did karaoke and tacos if anyone was hungry. The swings at the bars are really such an amazing touch that really gives this resort the extra tropical look.
Another great feature of this resort is that its really tucked away deep in the jungle so there is no outside noise from the street and the security is very tight there. It really does feel like you're in the middle of a jungle because of all the vegetation and quietness of the resort. The staff does an amazing job with the upkeep they pay so much attention to details. Every morning we would see people skimming the fountains and pools and they would really do a meticulous job.
I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat. It was incredible from the little details to the big things.

The visitors? Not so much.

We visited from September 25 to September 30, 2020. Used a package deal from Delta. The resort was operating at reduced capacity and we found it quite enjoyable to have no wait at the swim-up bars and our choice of cabanas on the beach.

Some of the restaurants were closed or opened only on certain days but we were able to enjoy a different eating spot every night. The food was very good. We were happy with the house wines.

Every single worker at the resort wore a mask at all times. Even the landscapers! However, hardly any visitors wore a mask. Fortunately, it was fairly easy for my husband and me to socially distance. The tables in the restaurants were very spread out. The open air music venue was the most crowded and we chose to stand in the back.

We had the most basic room with a garden view and it was beautiful. It is by far the best bathroom we’ve ever had at a hotel with a large tub, shower with a heavy glass door, separate water closet, and double vanity.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly.

However, this was our first visit to an all-inclusive beach resort and we were very disappointed to find out that it is not actually all inclusive. On our cruise experiences, a room credit meant you could spend that money just like cash for nice wine or an excursion or a spa treatment. Our $500 room credit here was really just coupons. For example, you could use $80 toward a massage that cost $250. Needless to say, we used none of our credit.

We also endured many pitches for upgrades and timeshares and excursions and spa treatments. None however, was high pressure.

Would we return? Not sure. I think one thing we really enjoyed was the low capacity. Having to wait for a restaurant reservations or fight for a cabana would certainly make the experience less enjoyable.

My husband and I were at Seaside Suites for a destination wedding for friends. The hotel and grounds are immaculate! Eldorado is a very pretty location right next to the ocean. The staff was amazing and helpful to your every need. The food was amazing even at the buffets. The fruit is so fresh! I miss it already! The temperature was in the 80's the whole time and we loved the foam party in the main pool! The homemade coconut ice cream was my favorite! The only downfalls I can write about is the Consignor was over bearing trying to get us to listen to their spiel about a vacation package/time share. There was a problem with ants in our bathroom and upon entering our room area it consistently smelled musty. We were promised some flavored oils for our room for freshening but that never happened. Shout out to Agustin our room steward. He cleaned our room daily, refilled the mini fridge and did turn down at night. The pools were very chilly so I would like to see the water heated during the cooler months (January/February). Perhaps some solar panels on the roof to heat the water efficiently would be the answer? The swim up bar was convenient and the bartender there bent over backwards for us time and again! We saw wonderful shows too compliments of the entertainment team. You won't find a better place or more beautiful to relax, I promise! Shout out to James Berglie and "Be All Inclusive" for their help with reservations/shuttle service and organization. Top notch!

Came here with my boyfriend in November this was his first all inclusive holiday as he normally holidays in Spain with family. So this was a different experience for him.

He LOVED it!!! And so did i this hotel was absolutely beautiful inside and out the grounds were lovely and well looked after beautiful pools all different ones depending on what you want peaceful pool party pool surprising they are close but I didn’t hear any of the party music etc so that’s a bonus if you like the quiet. Lots of iguanas around the hotel and plenty of wildlife birds even saw a woodpecker ! So I loved this also ! Always plenty of sunbeds although I would suggest getting up earlier if you want one that’s in the sun all day or if you want a Bali bed by the spot resteraunt as they are usually all gone by about 7am I’d say that was the case when I was there.

The hotel rooms were immaculate bed was very comfortable cleaned every night loads of great movies on the tv so if you like an early night you can snuggle into bed and watch a film.

Food is DELICIOUS!!! Omg !! We loved every restaurant all Michelin star not generally buffet apart from spot and the breakfast meals mainly dinner and tea everywhere else are all to order but you can order as much as you want. We loved Fuentes, d Italia casitas we found that better than the Italian that is on your section of the hotel, loved the Mexican the Thai omg the Thai resteraunt our waiter brought us loads of extra fried sushi who knew how tasty that was !!! Making my mouth water now thinking I can’t just go eat at all the amazing places there.

It really is amazing and was worth every penny would definitely go back

I did write some names done of staff that we felt made it special but seem to have lost that on my phone but there was the odd few that really made it special and we made sure we tried to sit in their section for breakfast and would say help and gave us a hug when we went but really it doesn’t matter as they know who they were and also the whole team are amazing and welcoming So they really are special and have made staying at their hotel feel like a dream world of luxury delicious food relaxation and everything you could need :)

Tips - I’d say take dollars for tips rather than pesos. And also if your a snack girl like me there wasn’t many “snack like food” all include so I did end up buying crisps but not too many as I was full from all the food I was eating

Loved it, miss it and would really recommend ! It’s amazing how generous and kind people are even tho they work so hard hardly get any time off and they really deserve all the praise as all the staff are amazing !!

This is our second year at the hotel and again it did not disappoint! The food again was superb, I just wish the menu in the poolside bar/pizzeria hadn’t changed as we miss the starter table nachos and prawn salads! I do think perhaps the menu in JoJo’s could be switched up also, I know it is in the process of being renovated (which I am incredibly excited for) so this could already be a future change - but there are really no complaints other than that and some sort of afternoon snack bar near the pool area would be absolutely perfect some days. Drinks are always good, the many varieties of alcohol you can get is great, especially for people like myself who like to sample the whole bar.. my only suggestion would be to have more spare bottles of drink as there was a few occasions certain types would run out, not a massive issue at all as there are plenty of other choices. This year was the first year we got to experience the foam parties/band/DJ’s by the pool and we thoroughly enjoyed it all, it really brings the pool to life and gets everyone in a party mood which is great, so hopefully these continue this year. I understand the capacity does drop after Christmas/New Years but it would be great if similar things like this were still to happen as I overheard a few people wishing they had been there for it as we left. JoJo’s of an evening was our go to place after dinner as it is always lively and full of some good people. NYE was amazing as per usual, we did notice there wasn’t as many fireworks as the previous year but other than that it was brilliantly organised and the clean up always amazes us as the next day you would never think it even happened. The rooms could do with a slight modern update and it wouldn’t go amiss for more lighting to be installed in each room as they are all quite dark, which can prove quite tricky when getting ready of an evening but again no complaints this is merely just another suggestion!

The staff at El Dorado are honestly the kindest, most hardworking people we have ever met. We are always astounded as to how many hours they work and the energy they all have. They are so helpful and can’t do enough for you. We especially want to recognise – Haxby, Clementine – who we missed by the main pool bar this year!, Alexis, Eduardo, Wilberth in JoJo’s (possibly the cutest man on the planet!) and Arnoldo. They all made our holiday as they did the year before and hopefully we will see them all when we return this year again.

So thank you to all the staff and everyone who we met who made our holiday the best one yet! Bring on 2020/2021 for the 3rd return of the crazy brits!

As this was our first trip to Mexico we were really looking forward to our holiday, especially as it was 5* all inclusive a la carte.
The hotel and resort grounds are beautiful, the staff are amazing, from the gardeners upwards they are all very friendly and nothing is a problem.
The room we had was exactly as in the brochure, spotlessly clean and included a well stocked fridge, however it was very dark even with the lights on and needed updating.
The pools are lovely and we enjoyed the swim ups however there are not enough sun beds, especially as a lot of them are reserved for members only which I will come to.
The first week we were there we had good nights in the different bars and got served with no problem, they were busier on weekends as lots of Americans go for a few days but again not really a problem, the issue we did have was when the huge wedding parties and corporate events came in during our second week, there was not enough staff on to cope especially at Jo Jo’s bar which is the only late one at that side of the resort so consequently we gave up in the end and returned to our room, also one of the pools was totally closed off just for the corporate party and though we realise these events bring in a lot of revenue for the resort it is not what we were expecting.
The restaurants are varied and overall very good, though my husband was disappointed there were no big grilled steaks unless you paid for them (all inclusive?) and certain ones only served small portions. We always had the house wine otherwise you had to pay though to be fair it wasn’t at all bad, the other thing it doesn’t tell you in the brochure is certain restaurants close for so many nights and three of them you have to book through the concierge, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead. The other thing we found odd was that you have to BUY ice cream from the shop which only opens so many hours a day and Starbucks is advertised but again you have to pay.
So going back to the members thing, the resort is time share and I would recommend you do not get caught out like we did and do the 60 minute tour, ours ended up being 3 hours and I had one extremely annoyed husband. The room they showed us at the beginning of the tour was lovely and what we were expecting ours to be like for us to get the wow we were looking for, they then take you to another two which are absolutely fabulous and very expensive, we did get 30 minutes free massage but it ended up costing us anyway as we upgraded to an hour, I would sooner have been in the sun.
The resort is quite a distance from anywhere so you have to get taxis for sight seeing which can be costly and though this is one of the bigger resorts you can only walk along the beach or around the grounds so if like us you enjoy walking this is restrictive.
We enjoyed our holiday, me more than my husband and as I said earlier the resort itself is lovely it just has certain aspects we were disappointed with for a 5* especially when we have stayed in 4* hotels in the Asian side which impressed us more.

So, first of all, I’m a seasoned traveler to Mexico, visiting 2 to 3 times a year typically for the last 15 years. Huge fan of the Secrets resorts but have been to the Palace resorts, Valentin Maya etc. and to other countries like the Dominican, Jamaica, Bahamas, etc.

This resort has a few things going for it but most of this review will be alerting you to issues.

First of all the food is some of the best I’ve had at an all inclusive. Probably beats everyone else hands down. Fuentes is a must visit.

The room is well appointed and the bed is comfortable which is great.

Now to the issues.
1. NO ELEVATORS IN ANY BUILDING. Big problem for the older generation and those with knee or hip problems. Even the restaurants required climbing stairs.

2. No delivery of drinks to the room unless you want to pay for a full bottle of wine. And even worse they are rude when you ask. Worse, many places there aren’t any bars where you can get a drink to take to the room.

3. Bars don’t carry a full complement of liquors. Liquor 43 was non existent except at Martini bar. So no mini beers in the pool. Couldn’t even get a White Russian one night as there wasn’t any milk at the bar.

4. Too many things are extra charge, ice cream for an example and while they have star bucks it’s an extra $4.00. Fuentes was an extra $10.00 but they wanted an additional 45 for a special flight of wine for the dinner.

5. Beach service is spotty at best with none yesterday at all and you can’t order food on the beach or even take it to the beach.

Our room probably had worst view as there was a solid wall so when you tried to sit on the balcony only thing you could see was plaster wall. We knew the view from the beach wouldn’t be the best dye to the concrete blocks and sandbag but the water is pretty.

There are shuttles to take you to the various restaurants which helps due to the size of the resort. the closest bar/ restaurant to our room was closed due to renovations. Ugghhh

So to sum it up, some good mostly not good. In all likelihood won’t return.

El Dorado Royale really goes above and beyond to provide an enjoyable stay for their guests. All of the staff are so friendly and greet you with a cheerful "Hola" no matter where you go. There are lots of activities for guests (yoga, towel art, archery, aquafit, etc) and Haxby and Hugo especially were wonderful. Our only complaint about the activities were that some of the scheduling and locations changed due to COVID, but those were not communicated in the information we got from our concierge.
Food-wise, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Plenty of restaurant options and all of them delicious. We especially enjoyed the Fuentes cooking show with Chef Eduardo. Excellente!
We really can't say enough how pleasant every staff person was - from the waiters and maintenance staff to cart drivers and concierge. One additional complaint and something to be aware of if you decide to go is the amount of upselling. This might be due to COVID, but at times we felt constantly asked to upgrade, do more paid activities, etc, when we just wanted to relax.
For COVID, I was really impressed with how seriously the staff took it. There was hand sanitizer available at all the restaurants and all menus are accessible via QR code. However, no one was forcing guests to wear masks, thank goodness.
We can't recommend this resort enough!

We had an amazing time. We landed in Cancun on July 2 after they were shut down for three months. We were escorted on our own transport to a separate check-in where we were temperature checked and all employees on the premises wore masks regardless of their jobs. They have only opened the restaurants and rooms where they can social distance and provide hand sanitizer in every shared public area. We basically had our own pool as we were one of 29 reservations on July 2. The hotel grounds are spotless and they have a ton of open ocean space to explore, beds to lie in, hammocks, and frequent bars without rowdy patrons. It was a perfect trip.
Special shout out to Gregorio in the Sante Fe restaurant. He remembered us by name and knew exactly what to bring us...tequila after tequila...for breakfast. He was extremely personable and made us look forward to going each day. He alone is worth the trip!
Also our concierges Mario and Luis were so great. They talked with us each day, didn't pressure us into anything and were always helpful even to the point of negotiating with other hotel staff to accommodate our requests.
And absolutely do Fuentes. You will not see anyone as talented as Pablo on the guitar. Unbelievable.
I highly recommend you try this AI. This was our second trip there and both times we felt safer with their COVID precautions than we do in the USA.

Ours (sapphire) was at the very south end of the property. Fence line was right outside our entry door. Same with our Sapphire friends we were traveling with.

Not really, it is very windy and the water is very choppy - often there are “red flag danger” warnings. There is a “salt water” pool but it very rocky and not at all relaxing.
