The month of August will be a treat for Bollywood fans, with several highly anticipated Hindi films gearing up for theatrical releases. These include Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God 2 and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl 2. Adding to the excitement is Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher’s upcoming film Ghoomer, which has now confirmed its theatrical release on August 18.

The makers of Ghoomer recently unveiled a small video introducing the lead characters portrayed by Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher. The clip showcases Saiyami as a paraplegic cricketer and Abhishek as her coach. The video opens with Abhishek’s voiceover. He says, “Logically ek hath se koe desh ke liye khel sakta hai? No. Lekin ye life logic ka khel nahi hai, magic ka khel hai (Logically can anybody play for the mational team with just one hand? No. But this life is not about logic, it’s about magic).”

Sharing the video on social media, Abhishek Bachchan also announced that the film’s official trailer will be released in just three days. He wrote, “Lefty hai? Left hi hai. #GhoomerInCinemas on 18th August!”

Earlier, it was revealed that Ghoomer will have its premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023 (IFFM) on August 12 at Hoyts, Docklands. After its highly anticipated premiere, the film will hit theatres nationwide on August 18. Directed by filmmaker R Balki, Ghoomer also features veteran actress Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles.

The story of Ghoomer, co-written by R Balki, Rahul Sengupta, and Rishi Virmani, draws inspiration from the life of Karoly Takacs, the late Hungarian right-hand shooter who remarkably won two Olympic gold medals with his left hand after a serious injury to his dominant hand.
