Conservatory of Perm State Institute of Culture

Perm State Institute of Culture is a unique creative higher school on the map of Perm Territory and the Western Urals region, founded in 1975 with the aim of training specialists for the sphere of art and culture.

In 2013, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the government of Perm Territory and the Council of rectors, Conservatory was created in the structure of PSIC. The implementation of this idea became possible thanks to longstanding active work on the development of the system of continuous art education in Perm Territory and consecutive opening all musical directions of professional art (the first ones were "Musical instrumental art (folk instruments)", "Vocal art", "Musical instrumental art (orchestra brass and woodwind instruments)", "Fortepiano", "Musicology and musical applied art") in PSIC since 1991. Since 2002, the University has been training students in the entire spectrum of the specialties of professional art.

At the origins of conservatory specialties are outstanding figures of culture and art of the Perm Territory: K. I. Kudryashova, L. A. Solyanik, V. V. Elin, O. A. Zakharova, N. F. Abt-Neifert, V. G. Munster, G. G. Isaakyan, L. I. Drobysheva-Razumovskaya, L. A. Petrova, V. A. Novik, V. P. Tsyganov, V. A. Salin, R. I. Makarenko, E. V. Barashkova, L. F. Ivonina, N. B. Zubareva, E. V. Oparina, E. V. Batalina-Korneva, R. F. Kozlovsky (since 2013, he has been the director of the PSIC Conservatory).

Today there are six graduating departments in the Conservatory:

  • Department of special piano (head of the department is Professor L. I. Drobysheva-Razumovskaya, Rector of PSIC, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation);
  • Department of folk instruments and orchestra conducting (head of the department is Professor R. F. Kozlovsky, Director of the Conservatory);
  • Department of choir conducting (head of the department is Associate Professor T. V. Ivanova, vice-rector for artistic and creative work, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences);
  • Department of orchestral string and woodwind instruments (head of the department is Associate Professor O. V. Stratulat);
  • Department of solo singing (head of the department is Professor I. R. Kotelnikova, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation);
  • Department of theory and history of music (head of the department is Professor N. A. Petruseva, Doctor of Sciences (Art)).

Creative teams have been created and successfully work in the Conservatory:

  • Grand Prix winner, laureate of all-Russian and international competitions Students Orchestra of Russian folk instruments (Artistic Director is Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Professor V. S. Burdin),
  • Chamber orchestra (Artistic Director is Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor L. F. Ivonina).
  • Student theater "Academia" (Artistic Director is Laureate of international, all-Russian and all-Union competitions, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor I. R. Kotelnikova),
  • Laureate of all-Russian and international competitions and festivals, instrumental ensemble "VitaLink" (Artistic Director is Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Professor E. V. Barashkova),
  • Laureate of all-Russian and international competitions, Academic choir (Artistic Director is Director of the regional branch of NP "All-Russian choral society", vice-rector for artistic and creative work of PSIC, head of the department of choir conducting, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor T. V. Ivanova),
  • Laureate of all-Russian and international competitions, folk chorus (Artistic Director is Laureate of the international competition, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor E. S. Abasheva),
  • Laureate of all-Russian competition, sextett of bayanists (Artistic Director is Laureate of all-Russian and international competitions, winner of the grant "Russian performing art", laureate of Perm city award in the field of art and culture named after A. Nemtin, Director of PSIC Conservatory, Professor R. F. Kozlovsky),
  • Laureate of international competitions and festivals, ensemble of domra players "Domrachei" (Artistic Director is prizewinner of international competitions, Associate Professor O. A. Aman)
  • Ensemble "Unison of balalaikas" (Artistic Director is laureate of all-Russian and international competitions, Associate Professor A. L. Taran),
  • Brass band (Artistic Director is Associate Professor O. V. Stratulat),
  • String Quartet (Artistic Director is Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor L. F. Ivonina)

The Conservatory implements large-scale creative projects:

International competitions:

  • International multi-genre competition named after A. Nemtin (in nominations: piano, piano ensemble, organ, classical singing, folk singing, pop singing, guitar, guitar ensemble);
  • International competition of vocalists “ACADEMIA”;
  • International competition of folk instruments performers “Prikamye”;
  • International competition of stringed instruments performers “Magic bow”;
  • Perm Territory competition of young performers on folk instruments and vocalists of folk singing “Russian fantasy- 2017”;
  • Perm Territory concert season ticket:“Creativity of youth - to the native city and the region!”.
