Scope and Contents
The South Park Heritage Museum Records is a composite collection of historical material compiled by the South Park community in Beaumont that documents its school district's heritage. The collection conists of a variety of material that includes: high school yearbooks (1917-1987); high school senior graduation commencement programs and photographs; high school newsletters; high school class reunion photographs and memorabilia; high school student council scrapbooks; high school sports teams scrapbooks, programs, photographs and film footage; high school athletes, coaches and teachers memorabilia; high school and middle school scrapbooks and yearbooks for the Parent, Teacher and Student Association (PTSA); school directories; high school artifacts related to the school mascot ("Greenie"), school band, concert choir and cheerleaders programs; local elementary school class photographs; assorted newspaper clippings about the South Park Independent School Distric (SPISD); and other memorabilia and ephemera that encompasses the history of the school district. Also contained in this same collection are materials related to South Park Junior College, and Lamar College of Technology.
