North Eugene High School celebrates grand opening

EUGENE, Ore. — Tuesday night, October 10, 2023, North Eugene High School will hold its grand opening ceremony.

Our station got an inside look at the building, the district's first new high school in over half a century.

The building was funded by a voter-approved bond measure back in 2018.

Head Principal Nain Munoz says it's already having an impact. “Our enrollment's up a little bit higher than we expected, our attendance is a lot higher than we expected, we're at close to 90 percent right now, and you're seeing the energy kind of trickle down from our staff to our students, and people are excited about the new building.”

The community open house starts at 6:30 this evening and goes on until 8:00 p.m.

There's also a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:45.
