Ok, let me just preface this; I have not watched this video yet, it just showed up in my TL now, but when I saw it featured Junkie XL of all people on Rick Beato’s show, I was very confused and happy - there’s a crossover I had not expected to see this year.

Anyway, it may have little to nothing to do with classic trance, but since it features Junkie XL I thought it might be interesting!

Wait — are you aware of how long he has been scoring films, and how long it’s been since he has … crossed over?

I was not aware at all actually.

I assumed that many understood that the reason why he is such a hero to people like me is because he successfully made the transition from electronic music to film scoring. I’m a film school graduate who has always held movies and film scores above electronic music and DJ culture.

For that reason, when considering his greatness across the board, he has for many years been the GOAT “trance producer”. I think that JXL is on a level entirely his own. Nobody else in the history of electronic music surpasses him IMHO. I don’t consider Tiësto or Armin or Sasha or anyone in classic trance to be on the same level as Junkie XL (Tom).
