Shattuck-St. Mary’s (SSM) Hockey Center of Excellence is an internationally known hockey development program for male and female student-athletes in grades 7-12. Our well-established program is one of the most successful at combining elite-level hockey training, development, and competition with the demanding academics of a college-prep school. Our goal is to develop great athletes that are also superb students and citizens of integrity.

SSM’s unique approach emphasizes the fundamentals of hockey skills development and execution, body conditioning, and tactics for physical and mental development. Our program includes a rigorous seven-month schedule, averaging 55-60 games a season, with tournament play throughout the United States and Canada for all teams. Student-athletes are on the ice six to seven days a week and each participates in a year-round strength and conditioning program.

  • Two NHL regulation-sized arenas and a 3v3 ice rink
  • Brand new, spacious (10,500 sq. foot), and well-equipped, weight training and conditioning facility with dedicated team locker rooms
  • Video room for team and individual analysis
  • Access to full-time athletic training staff and athletic training room providing advanced aquatic therapy
  • Brand new Servery that rivals the nutritious college mealtime experience and healthy snacks and drinks available at the rink through our Sabre Fuel program

Learn from a Veteran Coaching Staff:

Each team draws on the talent and experience of our top-level coaching staff, including former NHL, professional, and Division I college coaches. Goaltenders have a customized goaltending training program.
