Okay, I admit it--I actually saw the film not once, but twice, in the theater. And I found it enjoyable, as I do this soundtrack album. The album has been a personal favorite since it was released in 1984, although this may be due in part to its being a prominent feature of a fondly-remembered time in my life. Thirty years later, I can perhaps evaluate it more objectively, and for me at least, it still holds up. To be fair, some of the eighties-era songs sit uneasily alongside the re-recorded Beatles classics, and are perhaps not quite up to the same almost supernaturally high standard. But then, what WOULD be? The fact is, this is a very good collection, despite the occasional lapse (the opening verse of "Not Such A Bad Boy," for instance.) It's time people stopped disparaging it so. Now that Sir Paul has finally, belatedly, been enshrined as an elder statesman of rock, "Broad Street" deserves a re-evaluation. The soaring live-in-the-studio rendition of "Wanderlust" is worth the price of the download by itself. Treat yourself; buy this album. "Do it just for me...."

Great CD.. from one of Paul McCartney’s films when he was NOT with the Beatles.

Album is good, with a couple new songs and some new renditions of old ones. Not his best, but still pretty good. Product arrived on time, and was as advertised. I was disappointed that there was some material missing on the vinyl compared to the CD or cassette, but hardly the seller's fault. Would buy from again.

Regarding the album, I love this era in McCartney's output. Give My Regards to Broad Street has some of my favorite songs, and I love the new versions of some of his Beatles classics, as well. Regarding the disc, the copy I got was in excellent condition. The vinyl is not heavy weight (I don't know what was standard for the 80s), but it plays very well on my turntable. No skipping or pops. The sound quality is excellent. So happy to add to my collection.

Paul has so many great albums; it is really hard to quantify. He'd get 5 stars if I were to compare this to the music across all musicians. Some great classic songs. Watching the DVD gives you some perspective of the song to video relationship. At the very least, I would rent the DVD from the Library; if you want to get a feel for the audio. especially "Ballroom Dancing". As he is among my top favorite artists, I realize I am biased.. but if you know a McCartney fan who doesn't have this; I would suggest purchasing as a gift.

Niether the movie or the soundtrack are anything to write home about. They are very enjoyable not A Hard Day's Night enjoyable but good. The soundtack is full of solo and Beatle numbers some arranged a differently like Silly Love Songs.I always saw this as a period when he started looking backwards and not forwards.

Neue Interpretationen von Beatles- und Wings-Klassikern
Reviewed in Germany on February 25, 2011

Over-all this is quite good

Interesting cd, a companion to the movie of the same name, it has some respectful re-recordings of Beatles classics that are quite nice, and the extended "Eleanor's Dream" is a great orchestral piece that is a perfect fit to follow Eleanor Rigby.
Oddly some very recent McCartney songs from Tug of War and Pipes of Peace were re-recorded as well, must be that Paul wasn't exactly happy with the originals. Ballroom Dancing for one is definitely improved on this release, but the new version of So Bad falls a little short.
The two brand new songs, Not Such A Bad Boy and No Values are actually pretty decent songs that might have been better served on an album of all new songs, but they work well here in their somewhat raw form.
Goodnight Princess that closes out the cd is an unreleased throw-away track, but interesting nonetheless.

Some great reworkings of classics
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 1, 2019
I bought this on cassette way back in 1984. I was hoping to convert to MP3, but the cassette is now unplayable, so it was really great to hear this again (and with better sound quality AND some bonus tracks). In my opinion, there are some good McCartney tracks, alongside some reworkings of some classic Beatles songs. The ones that stand out, as far as I am concerned, are, Good Day Sunshine, For No One from the Beatles period, and reworkings of Silly Love Songs and Not Such a Bad Boy from McCartneys solo /Wings period. I believe that the film was a bit of a flop, but the music is certainly worth a listen. I would certainly advise would be buyers of this CD, to just go with it. You won't be disappointed.
