    Lovely experience
Kids are strictly fans and they were so excited to see the ballroom. We went on a Friday morning and there were plenty of couples up dancing which was really impressive. The ballroom is beautiful and the music is lovely. Good facilities and kids enter for free.
Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to review the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. I am pleased to hear you and the children had such a great experience with us and that you were satisfied with our offer. The Blackpool Tower Ballroom truly is a magical place as it takes you back in time and allows you to get lost in a world of elegant charm and refined beauty. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Aaron

    Keeeeeeep Dancing!
I'm a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing and love to visit the ballroom when on holiday in Blackpool. We spent a lovely 3 hours on this occasion, just sitting watching the dancers, having a wee drink of juice, and enjoying the music. Would love to be brave enough to get up and have a dance, however the majority of the dancers there seem to be regulars and come with their dancing shoes to change into, their fancy matching ourfits, and dont put a foot wrong!! It really is a lovely ballroom and a nice way to spend a relaxing few hours.
Hello, I'm really thrilled that you've rated us a 5* day out, this really means a lot to us here at the Tower! The Ballroom is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere and architecture whilst everyone dances to the famous Wurlitzer and is very special to us Its elegance and beauty holds a lot of history. Kind regards Aaron

    Awesome
This beautiful ballroom exceeded our expectations. Its absolutely stunning. My mother a very keen ballroom dancer) had told me about the floor and you can really feel the spring. We will be watching Strictly with added interest this year. The organist was excellent and it was wonderful watching a few couples turning up to dance even at ten o'clock in the morning. We didn't try the tea and cake as we'd had a full breakfast only an hour or so before, but it looked pretty good.

    Ballroom Visit
I brought my 13 year old granddaughter to Blackpool at the weekend. After going up the Blackpool Tower, we enjoyed spending an hour or two in the Ballroom watching the dancers and listening to the Wurlitzer. As a long time fan of Strictly, she was well impressed with the ambience of the Ballroom. She wanted to give a special mention to Ray on the door of the Ballroom - who was extremely kind in helping us rearrange times for other venues on the Blackpool Pass tickets we had purchased. He could not do enough for us, told us a bit about the history of the Ballroom and told us to enjoy a wee dance. Evie kept saying all day that Ray was the nicest person we had met since arriving in Blackpool - so a well deserved pat on the back to Ray! We had a great time. Thanks. Carol and Evie from Edinburgh.

    A beautiful historical building.
A loverly 1/2 hour in the ballroom watching the dancers and listening to the organist. Beautiful historic building that we visited with our weekly attraction passes. Not something we would have normally done, especially with a 5 year old, but glad we did.

    Great fun!
A wonderful couple of hours enjoying the afternoon tea! Don't listen to the poor reviews, its a case of you get what you pay for, for £20 which includes admission I'm not sure what some people expect! The sandwiches and cakes were perfectly palatable, the tea piping hot. Shout out to Tracey our server who was very friendly and helpful. We even managed a dance with thanks to the man (Graham?) who showed us all the barn dance steps. Excellent fun for Strictly fans and great value for money. Added bonus that we got to watch the red Arrows from the 5th floor afterwards too.

Beautiful historic ballroom and amazing afternoon tea experience
This historic ballroom is a must-see in Blackpool. Entry to the ballroom itself is free and you can spend as much time as you want either dancing to the live music or watching the dancers on the ballroom floor. There's a bar inside where you can get food and snacks. I would highly recommend booking in for the afternoon tea experience to really make it a memorable visit.

    Lovely afternoon in the ballroom
Afternoon Tea in the Tower Ballroom is a truly unique experience. I booked this on their website at £50 for two people. I think the entrance to the ballroom is around £12pp so the food element is roughly £26. Both the our servers one young male and one more mature male, were both lovely. The organists Phil & Mark were exceptional playing a variety of songs (and a couple of hymn tunes). They alternate every hour. There’s something magical watching the Wurlitzer ascend and descend. The venue is superb. Not a single bulb out. It is clearly well maintained. Watching people dancing and having the opportunity to be ‘taught’ the occasional group dance is entertaining. Yes, the food quality definitely could be upped a bit but the overall experience was unforgettable and I’m definitely going to return soon.

Don’t miss- fabulous bit of architecture
Fantastic, relive the past, and enjoy a bit tradition We arrived rather late in the day about 30 mins before the ballroom closed. Micheal who worked there, helpfully informed us that soon things would be winding down, but we decided to go in as we are leaving town tomorrow, Glad that we did You could join in the dancing, enjoy the sound of the organ in the stunning hall. A fabulous part of British heritage

Enjoyed almost 6 hours of dancing to the wurlitzer organ and Empress Orchestra, great value for money from start to finish.
Well attended though despite large numbers plenty of room to dance and enjoy the occasion. Friendly staff and good bar service along with availability of snack food made the evening.
Only issue was band leader was inaudible at times - mic training required, otherwise fab event and will consider returning if done next year - in the meantime looking to plan visits for tea dances through the year.
Thanks Blackpool Tower for a great evening - Happy New Year to you all.

We spent a couple of enjoyable hours in Blackpool Tower Ballroom between Christmas and New Year watching the dancing. We chose the option of buying balcony tickets permitted us to watch from the balcony but not to dance.
At one point they decided to do a barn dance where the organist had a few timing issues, the music just got faster and faster, thought the organist must have left something in the oven! Joking aside, it was a wonderful piece of organ playing by Chris Hopkins, who along with John Bowdler on the wurlitzer are two of the talented resident musicians who play at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. There was lots of fun had on the dance floor, rather a shame we weren't allowed to join in, the one time we bought balcony only tickets, though we did have a little dance on the balcony! Maybe next time!
If you are in Blackpool and have two or three hours to fill it is well worth a visit, if you are not a dancer you can do what we did and get a balcony pass, only £3.95 each where you can enjoy the ambience, the lovely music, the beautiful décor and the amazing sprung floor, as well as watching some great dancing!

A tenner in with nothing added. £4 a pint.
But, seeing the oldies dancing, the Wurlitzer emerge from the floor, the splendour of the hall. Sends goosebumps down my spine. I'm not a Strictly fan, but I would never visit Blackpool without visiting the ballroom for the pure magic and love that shows when these folk glide around. i love it unashamdely.
i appreciate running costs but its pricing itself out of popularity comapred to Dino Golf, circus, zombies etc - this is a legacy, i hardly spotted anyone under 50 there, reduce. prices to attract a younger generation, or lose this beautiful thing in the heart of stag and hen parties..

Hello Gary, Thank you for taking the time to review The Blackpool Tower Ballroom! I am sorry to hear you were disappointed by the entry fee to the Ballroom. Unfortunately, the ballroom demands a large amount of upkeep so in order to maintain such a grand beautiful room we do need to charge a small fee; I hope you can appreciate this, and this price hasn't increased in over 5 years. Have a good day and we hope to see you at the tower again soon! Kind Regards, Kenny Mew

Visited Blackpool Tower Ballroom yesterday. It was an amazing experience, we had afternoon tea which was highly enjoyable - there were some lovely choices and we even got a glass of champagne.
All the staff were absolutely brilliant, especially Francis who I could listen to all day.
The organist was playing while quite a few dancers were on the floor ... so relaxing / entertaining to watch, it was like another world. I even took my 3 month old baby who loved looking around the stunning ballroom at all the twinkly lights, I even went up for a dance with her when they did a beginners dance and held her in my arms.
It is so good ... I am definately going to return and can’t believe I haven’t been before.

On a cold and wet Saturday morning a group of us went to visit the Tower but it was closed due to the weather conditions so instead we elected to visit the ballroom instead not knowing what to expect. We managed to secure a table right at the front next to the dance floor and purchased some teas and soft drinks from the bar as they weren’t serving alcohol that early. There was a couple practicing on the floor before the organist appeared and began to play. At this point more couples appeared and eventually the floor was filled. There were pairs of all standards but one thing was clear and that was that they were thoroughly enjoying themselves and entertaining us at the same time. We stayed longer than we had planned. The only disappointing thing was the queue for the bar seemed unnecessarily long and slow as they only had one small section open. It didn’t seem to make sense. Well worth a visit.

Arranged an afternoon tea for six for a 60th birthday. Visited the toilets on the way up, they were quite grubby with broken locks on the door, not a good start. Got shown to our table which had the empty cake stands on waiting to be filled. After fifteen minutes waiting we went up to the bar and ordered extortionately priced drinks. Eventually we managed to flag down a waitress who was more interested in watching the dancing than serving. She was surprised we hadn’t been served (the clue was that the empty cake stands were still there!). The afternoon tea was pretty underwhelming, a selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Cakes are obviously bought in but you usually get fresh scones. There had definitely been defrosted as they just crumbled as you cut into them. I have never had clotted cream in a little screw top jar and never in my life have I had UHT clotted cream. It was foul. The Wurlitzer organ was playing constantly for people to dance. Although the player was good it was so loud you could not talk to each other and the dancers took it all so seriously some were arguing about space on the floor. It was a poor, very expensive experience and one never to be repeated. Avoid.

The ballroom itself was absolutely amazing and it was great to see the dancers. However - it was incredibly overcrowded, no room to move, nowhere to sit and a constant huge queue for the bar. The tables that were in use were absolutely covered in empty glasses, plates etc as clearly no staff to clear anything away meaning the whole place was pretty dirty and yuck. As for the toilets!! Absolutely vile before you even got down the stairs the smell of urine was enough to make your eyes burn, the toilets were dirty, no toilet roll, full of other peoples waste and no hand soap! Not really what you expect from such a place on a busy Sunday. I guess with it being a Merlin attraction standards have really slipped and considering you have to pay quite a lot just to get in to see it it was outrageous.

The only saving grace for us was that the girl on the door told us it was busy and not great and offered us a refund, this was not the case according to the Merlin staff at the front desk but because this is what we had been told we were given tickets to the Sealife centre the next day. If this had not been the case it would have been a really wasted £18! Merlin really need to sort this out or stop charging outrageous prices

Treated my wife and daughter as both big strictly fans, venue is lovely and was a joy to watch mainly the older generation strutting their stuff on the dance floor whilst we waited to be seated for afternoon tea. I had asked when booking if non gluten option could be offered as my wife is gluten free but told this is no longer an option. On the day my wife asked our hostess jacki if she could have the sandwich fillings if possible as couldn't eat the bread, jacki came back with the normal selection and an individual gluten free selection which was over and above what we expected, she made our visit even better than we expected so if anyone is reading this that works with her pass on our appreciation again.

We went for an afternoon tea at the Tower Ballroom last week, there were 3 of us. It was very cramped as they had put as many tables out as possible and the seats were touching.
The serving staff were not very friendly and the food was substandard, using cheap products and tasteless. Only instant coffee was on offer so for £25 per person this was not value for money.
The organist was very good and the interior of the ballroom is beautiful but I wouldn’t bother having an afternoon tea.

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review! I am sorry that you felt the afternoon teas were substandard. The feedback from guests regarding their afternoon tea experiences has been phenomenal, and only a handful of guests this year have left unhappy after the overall experience. As a business, we are always looking for ways to improve our products - and we continually assess the Ballroom food offering for quality and value for money. I hope you still had a good time and we showed enough promise for you to visit again. Kind regards, Kenny

Absolutely freezing day so we decided to pop into the Tower Ballroom. There are options to sit on the dance floor itself (£9.95) or on the balcony (£3.95 but it doesn’t show this option online). We chose the balcony - either way you can dance if you want to.
The building is stunning and there’s a great atmosphere. Hot and cold drinks and food, snacks available at the bar and not expensive.
We spent a while listening to the Wurlitzer and watching the couples dance. There were some very professional looking dancers and also lots of couple just enjoying the music, dancing around. Quite a few people having afternoon tea and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Betty who was there to celebrate her birthday.
All in all a lovely experience and I’d definitely go back - I might even dance next time!
