I have been a fan of The Osmonds for fifty years. As a boy, it was unpopular being a fan of The Osmonds, but I loved their music and their clean cut message. It is ironic that with the passing of time we have learned that there were just as many insecurities and family problems in The Osmonds as there were in the families of us lesser beings. It only makes you relate to them more and feel closer. "Inside the Osmonds" is well worth watching if you're a fan. The reproduction of some of their hits in concert was excellent! You really got the feel for that old footage we all remember so well. I think that for a TV movie, it does a good if somewhat superficial job, and perhaps could have been longer rather than skipping through time. Only criticisms were the chronology of some of the music and costumes. They were seen in stage costumes early on which wouldn't be seen until 1974. Early in the movie, when they are trying to get a break, they are seen performing "Hold her Tight" which came later, from the 1972 "Crazy Horses" album, "Goin' Home" from the 1973 "The Plan" album and "Love me for a Reason" from the album of the same name in 1974. This aside, still worth having in any Osmonds fan's collection. I saw them live back in the seventies and again about thirteen years ago, and I still think that they are fantastic, and I'm nearly sixty one!

I enjoyed the DVD Inside the Osmonds tonight. It was well acted, the cast (actors play the Osmond family members) did a great job. It touched on everything I already knew about their lives. If you are an Osmond fan you will enjoy it, if you aren't it will give you a good insight into the hardships behind the smiles, and hopefully help you appreciate them as individuals and a normal family, who had their troubles and egos, but still to this day are a close loving family. There is a lovely surprize at the end too!

As one of the biggest Osmond fans on the face of the Earth.. I thought this telefilm was a great watch for 1 and a half hours. It skimmed over the entire family's history, from egomaniac Merrill's overinfalted opinion oof himself, to Alan's responsibility of the group and the brothers, Jay and Wayne get the short end of the stick in this film as they don't really have any input.
The characters you want to feel most sorry for is Marie and Donny - neither ask for any of the pressure added onto them yet they seem obligated to as they have the most appeal for the entire family. Bruce McGill is fabulous as the father and Ryan Kirkpatrick is brilliant as Merrill.
The brothers are easy to tell apart and some of the real footage is great to integrate with the film - And the last 2 minutes are a great way to end the film. With all the family onstage singing the last few lines to He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother... I LOVE THIS FILM and I lvoe the Osmonds
