DIANA ELAINE (FRANKLIN) PRESTON

Diana Elaine (Franklin) Preston, 83, of Pierce City passed away on April 27, 20224. She was born on Aug. 5, 1940, in Muscatine, Iowa; the only child of Vernon Ray Franklin and Alice Helen (Atkinson) Franklin.
She graduated from La Puente High School with the class of 1958.
She married Frank Fay Preston on Sept. 14, 1959 and together, they had five children.
She started a career with the IRS in Utah in 1966 and retired as a revenue officer in 1992. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962 and remained a faithful member. She and her husband moved to Pierce City in 1981 where they remained.
She is survived by her children: twins, Carrie (Clark) Petersen of Pierce City and Terry Preston of Isanti, Minn., Mark (Jodi) Preston of Pierce City, and Erik (Misty) Preston of Alma, Ark.; her daughter-in-law, Shelley of West Jordan, Utah; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Wade; parents, Vernon (stepmother Marie) and Helen (stepfather George); stepbrother, Chris Kuehl; and many other friends and family.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Monett. Interment followed at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
Arrangements were entrusted to the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
