Friday the 13th

Terror and suspense abound in this 24-hour nightmare of blood. Camp Crystal Lake has been shuttered for over 20 years due to several vicious and unsolved murders. The camp's new owner and seven young counselors are readying the property for re-opening despite warnings of a "death curse" by local residents. The curse proves true on Friday the 13th as one by one each of the counselors is stalked by a violent killer. This film is widely acclaimed for its horrifying and creative murder sequences.

Product Description

FRIDAY THE 13th: SERIES COMPLETE TV SERIES - Terror is in Store. In Friday the 13th The Complete Series, cousins Micki Foster (Louise Robey) and Ryan Dallion (John D. LeMay) inherit their uncle's antiques store, but have no idea they'll be in the business of evil. It seems Uncle Lewis broke a deadly deal with Satan, and they're paying the price. From a cursed Cupid and murderous mirror to a sinister snow globe and a wicked Jack-in-the-box, the Curious Goods shop carries the inventory from hell. And they need to get it all back to secure everything in their magical vault. Enlisting the help of friends Jack Marshak (Chris Wiggins) and Johnny Ventura (Steve Monarque), the cousins embark on a relentless search for the shop's devilish relics... all to keep darkness at bay and innocent lives safe. Featuring all three seasons and 71 episodes of the sci-fi classic, this 17-disc collection is for thrill-seekers only.

Item not as described- 3 separate boxes, not the black cover boxset
First off, game in 3 separate cheap DVD boxes wrapped together, not the original black cover art/full boxset as I expected.Second: while the first two seasons were wrapped individually within the outside wrapper, the FINAL SEASON was not. In fact it looks pre-owned or like a return. The discs all have a sticky residue on them. I tested one of the discs and it seems to work, but I am bummed as a collector because I was really looking forward to the complete box set art and not 3 cheap DVD boxes for each season.

Great Show .

First, as much as I hate to have to say this, this is NOT associated with Friday the 13th, the movies. This is a little confusing, however, as the product page does not have an relevant information added here, plus the creators of the show originally reworked the title 'The 13th Hour' and instead used 'Friday the 13th' to draw viewership.

This is a Canadian-American horror series that premiered on October 3rd, 1987, and that ran until May 26th, 1990. It was an interesting run , in my opinion, that adding elements like moral decisions, character demise, and so on, along with a lot of horror tropes reminiscent of tales like "The Monkey's Paw.' Granted, it does not have a conclusive ending, but does have some interesting items, ideas, and themes throughout. It is very reflective of the time as well and has aged well in my opinion, with a lot of schlocky effects, dialog, and dress that really make you say, 'nice.'

The description from IMBD, for further clarification:

An old antique dealer made a pact with the Devil to sell cursed antiques. When he dies, his store is inherited by his niece Micki and her cousin Ryan. With the help of Jack Marshak, they fight to retrieve the antiques from the people who bought them to stop them from causing harm.

As noted by others, this is a rerelease of existing materials with new boxing/casing. The set comprises a total of 72 episodes within it and is currently listing for just over 33 dollars, which is a great deal in my opinion. Comparatively, the last set released at 3x the cost, and the cover art on that release is either something you love or hate, depending on how you view the crowded effects. Personally, I like them both for different reasons, with the older one giving you and item overview but with this set giving you a nice, minimal look that does not look like a network overview of a bunch of shows when viewed from afar (check out the older one - it really does look like that).

Spec-wise, this is Box set, Color, Full Screen, NTSC, just like the former set, and it comes in at 17 discs, just like it.

I am rating this as though you do NOT own it. If you do, this is the same material revisited, so whether or not new cover art is worth it - that is up to you.

Are you ready to embark on a thrilling and eerie adventure with "Friday the 13th: The Series"? Look no further, as this collection of 72 episodes will leave you on the edge of your seat, clamoring for more.

This cult classic series revolves around two cousins, Ryan and Micki, who inherit an antique shop from their uncle, only to discover that the objects in the shop are cursed. Each episode centers on the duo's quest to retrieve the cursed items before they harm innocent people, all while being pursued by the nefarious and supernatural forces that seek to control the cursed artifacts.

The acting is superb, with John D. LeMay and Louise Robey as the dynamic and likable duo, Ryan and Micki. The supporting cast is also fantastic, adding depth and complexity to the various storylines. The series is not just a typical horror show, as it seamlessly blends horror, drama, and mystery to create an unforgettable experience.

The DVD collection is beautifully packaged and contains all three seasons of the series, as well as special features such as behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with the cast and crew, and commentary on select episodes.

Overall, "Friday the 13th: The Series - The Complete TV Series" is a must-have for horror and mystery enthusiasts alike. It's a true gem that will leave you wanting more, even after the final episode. Don't miss out on the chance to unlock the curse and dive into this thrilling series.

I'm writing this to those who might be on the fence due to other comments about the packaging and discs potentially arriving damaged. I had no such problems. The multi-disc case arrived in great condition (North Carolina). Only the first disc popped off the little nub inside the case. It played just fine with zero freezes, skips or other glitches. These DVDs aren't the highest picture quality, but they were shot by some second-tier Canadian company back in the 1980s so expectations weren't high in the first place. I was 14 back in 1987 (first season) and this series definitely takes me back. There was so much that I forgot, and several episodes I never saw. (Louise) Robey was definitely something to behold as Mickey.

This boxed set is beautifully done! Several years ago another seller was offering this series as a boxed DVD set, and it was terrible - video quality like a bad VCR copy, poor sound, square aspect ratio, and squeezed onto too few disks. Of course, this is a somewhat obscure show from the 80’s so perhaps the source material has its challenges, but the poor presentation also reflected a lack of respect for the original. Now THIS set is very attentive to details - it’s been visually enhanced so that it looks good on modern televisions, the sound quality is great through the speaker system, and each disk contains only four episodes for a total of ten disks for the set. This will make a great gift for friends who watched the show with me back in the day...

5.0 out of 5 stars Show Is Great! Case Is GARBAGE!
Reviewed in Canada on January 12, 2019
I received this in the mail, of course the discs were loose, but still playable, the case design is a leaflet style, but its not attached to anything, so you have these discs flopping around during transit getting all loose, and causing abrasion on the disc. Do yourself a favor and buy the individual seasons. They are packaged properly. I actually just photo copied the front and back cover and transferred each disc to a single dvd case to prevent further damage. The moron who thought this was good packaging at CBS should be fired.

If u enjoyed the series when it aired u will enjoy seeing the entire series in one large complete box set.
The picture is not the best quality so definitely not digitally remastered. I think it’s a transfer from vhs to DVD.
